    The early 175 V-6 used 2 pumps in series.----The pumps operate with PRESSURE pulses.-----A different spring will give the whole pump a different part #.----Same as powerpacks , many of them have different part numbers simply because wires are a different length.

    That plug on front is screwed in snug.---IT is an orifice plug.-----It meters air and is NOT adjustable.----Mixture adjustment screw is on an angle , adjust as needed.----Compression is excellent and even as it should be on any modern motor !

    You are wrong.---If cold water from the pump went to the thermostats first they would not respond , would they ??------Water flows to thermostats last !!-----And water from the tell tale does NOT circulate through the block either.

    A diaphragm kit for your motor serial # is listed at $12.90 so that is a good deal.-----I use diaphragm from say a 1965 Johnson / Evinrude V-4 to make diaphragms for other motors if I need to.

    I often say it -------These starters are easy to take apart and inspect.-----Take an ohm reading on the armature.-----Maybe replace the drive if it is a factory quality starter.
