houseboats are generally a floating brick. as far as seaworthyness, consider that.
yes, any documentation is unusual. boats are still made off of sketches and a note pad. drawings rarely exist.
I would not worry about it.
Decals come off in the sun down here in Florida long before the paint goes bad.
My opinion - Most likely its the original drive that someone repainted

would like to say that has never happened to me......
as I sat there in the boat looking for water out the exhaust only to realize there was no water coming out of the hose.....
first, welcome aboard
second, if you were spraying water at the intake, yes, you could have ingested water.
start by changing oil, run for 15 minutes, then change oil again.
also do a compression test. and a water jacket pressure test
did you run the pump dry?
should always use muffs with the hose on full. also need to make sure you have the bottom pickup hole blocked if its an AQ drive.
if going to a 4 blade, adding a blade, will drop your RPM. I would drop down in pitch to bring your RPMs up.
you are currently at a 3-blade, 21p. I would shoot for a 4-blade, 19p. work with your local prop shop. they may have a prop for you to try.
actually, you have to fix the stringers, transom and foam before you get to the floor.
as indicated above, you have about a years worth of work.
