    Inspect lower unit oil.-----For this issue I would charge the battery and have it load tested.-----Then take starter apart for inspection and ohm check on armature.-----Costs no beer tokens to take these steps!

    Scot06----Post #1 says it is galvanized.-----That would make it a steel trailer.------Likely made with cheap steel.------When corrosion takes hold of the steel as shown , it deems it SCRAP in my opinion.

    That is not adjustable !!-----It has a calibrated hole to allow the correct amount of fuel through.----That is if the motor is pulling the correct amount of air through the carburetor.-----Install it snug.

    Loopers do not have transfer covers.----The crossflow has those covers to allow drilling of the ports.

    These motor were for light boats with a 15" transom.-----They also used the 2 cylinder lower unit.-----A smaller lower unit and not considered robust at all.-----So not durable to be used on a heavy boat for hr after hr of hard work.------There are people looking for these and E-bay / craiglist...

    If using the electric primer valve improves operation it points to a carburetion / fuel issue.----------Stop running this motor until you find the problem.----A blockage in a carburetor will starve fuel and OIL to one cylinder.----Can cost big $$$ repairs.
