on the Rogue, I am doing just that I am running the ignition and fuel pump relays thru the oil pressure switch NO contact with a bypass switch that also silences the alarms. the relays come on after cranking a bit when the pressure goes over 7 psi (which is why I use the bypass switch). if...

    Wrong Manual

if you have a vortec headed engine, the engine (or at least the heads) are 1996 and newer. in 1987 only the 4-cylinders still had points. you will never find a factory manual online. that is a breach of copyright laws. you can get them new from http://publications.brunswick.com/ big cable...

    SEI Sterndrives

the need for routine maintenance items does not mean the drives need to be rebuilt. new gimbal and bellows kits, alignment and gimbal installation tool, new water pump kits, new U-joints, new input shaft seals, cut the old prop off and new anodes and paint and you are in it for about a grand...

    Mercruiser 4.3 oil gauge mystery

FWIW, every engine I build has a mechanical gauge mounted to the intake manifold and plumbed to the oil galley in the block. that way if I question an electric gauge, I can quickly look to see if there is actual oil pressure.

    Pourable Transom?

When I used seacast, I still had to undeck the boat, use a chain saw to remove the wood and still ended up cutting the inside transom skin to be able to clean up the fiberglass surface prior to pouring the seacast as stated above. there are no shortcuts.

Starter starts something spinning in the back of engine only, nothing in the front.

sounds like either your crank is busted or your flywheel studs are broke. either way, the motor is coming out and you have to investigate

First, welcome aboard 2-stroke outboards burn about 0.55# of fuel per HP per hour (BSFC). This is crankshaft HP, not prop HP make sure to weigh your boat. reality weight and catalog weights are two different things. however lets assume that you are putting out 135hp at the prop at your...

If water comes out of propeller it means thermostat opened and water pump working?

The thermostat in a marine motor is used as a mixing valve. There is always water being pumped into the motor , the thermostat may or may not divert a small amount of water thru the motor,, however water is always flowing out the exhaust to keep it cool and from burning up your boat
