    Sounds like a ---" lean sneeze "-----A much misunderstood thing on 2 strokes.----Open slow speed mixture screw 1/4 turn at a time.----Also caused by throttle plate opening too early.

    I have a smooth road in front of my place.-----I can sit outside and say----" here comes that blue pick up with the delaminating tread "-----Seconds later it drives by.-----Many bad tires out there.

    Take the thing apart.----Clean all parts.----Install seal kit and new impeller.

    Pressure test the gearcase.----Perhaps it was leaking .---Filled with grease ( mistake ) since grease won't leak as much.

    I would say it is a 1984 model with brown / copper colored decals ?------In forward gear it is normal to do the clicking when turning prop clockwise.---Maybe there is nothing wrong !

    The stator under the flywheel charges the battery I believe.-----Why do you suspect the stator ?----Or did you mean stator in the belt driven distributor ?

    That is considered to be a single lever control.-----This motor needs a new water pump impeller before leaving the dock.

    There usually is a stop switch on these motors.---Or ignition switch.----This thread / number of posts is just like the bunny.-----Just keeps on going and going.

    That is the idle stop.------You set that for your favorite trolling speed.-----Forces you to use the stop button to stop the motor.

    The fixture is identical looking to earlier ones.----I believe key way is changed by 180 degrees.----I have misplaced my fixtures and use the flywheel. ---As you know those fixtures are a " dummy flywheel " and a shop time saver.
