    the cost of the parts and the tools required to set up a drive far exceed the cost of a brand new drive. if you grenaded the drive, the bits and chunks go thru the whole drive making it a box of broken bits.

    first, welcome aboard second, what maintenance did you do? or didnt do? from your post, you most likely lost the gears in the drive. which usually means needing a whole new drive.

    I recently threw out about $10k worth of old car parts when I emptied a storage unit. motors, transmissions, radiators, body panels, lights, etc. all in great shape, however would take me a few years to sell or a few decades to use. Still have props for a few outboards I no longer have.

    you will want to make some test drills. I bet the transom is wet, if not rotted same goes for the stringers regarding your transom shield, you need a new one. as far as manuals go, you will need the motor and drive manuals.. boat side manuals do not exist (with a very few exceptions)

    a small amount just dabbed into the corners where the timing cover meets the block and where the rear main cap meets the block. think of the amount of tooth paste you put on your tooth brush. then use half that.

    NEVER use a snap hook on an anchor. It will always come off the anchor there was even a video on an anchor site showing how a slight bit of slack allows the hook to drop a bit, then as you pull up, the snap comes undone.
