    The choke responds to air pulled through the heat exchanger in the exhaust manifold.----Air comes through that tube on starboard side of the block !!-----Air heats a " bimetallic " spring in the housing above the solenoid.

    Mercury built some " SEARAY " motors to package with some SEARAY boats.-----Correct , just a Mercury painted white !!

    Help with pressure test on a 2002 Johnson 90 hp v4 gearcase

    It feeds pressure to the speedometer.------If that is leaking there could be a crack in the gearcase.----Are you in an area with a cold climate ?-------Remove shift rod cover.------Find a screw ( 8 ) there.-----Perhaps the seal ( 9 ) on that screw is leaking.

    1999 J150 JP VRO pump circuit board

    The pulse limiter is a flow fuse for the VRO pump.----Pulse limiter closes if there is a burst of too much air / pressure going to the VRO air motor.-----Test run with a portable fuel tank.----And use your handy timing light to confirm spark on all leads.

    It is a hot air choke with a solenoid ( override )------No difference in these chokes used from 1964 to 1970 models 40 HP standard and electric shift !!

    The JW is the 3 HP----CD is the 5.5 / 6 hp model.---AD is the 7.5 HP model.----FD is the 18 HP and RD is the 25 / 40 HP-----All Johnson outboard motors.-----All parts are similar except for size.

    When I worked at a Johnson dealer in the late 1960's it was not uncommon for a stuck motor to come in.----I used to ask the folks what happened.-----Often a wrench on the flywheel nut would loosed them up.-----They ran fine.------There were no 50 year old motors that came in for repair in 1968...

    Sorry----Turning the key does nothing on this particular choke set-up.----Simply not how it was designed !------Time to read up on the carburetor and choke on this motor.----I am done and stepping aside on this one.

    Chrysler fuel pump

    Some will argue.-----I would simply take the pump apart.------About the only thing that can go wrong is the diaphragm.-----Available for about $10 I think.
