Overhauling my 1988 Alpha One Drive Train

Being a 1988 it should be points. I'm seeing the white/green could go to the Neg side of the coil and also goes to the shift interrupter Pic is from Manual 7 and my guess is the 17 (gray wire) in fact would be 24 (white/green)

Engine cut out while slowing down....

Yes at TDC, I'm thinking there is either the valves are still to tight or there not seating. Could loosen the rocker to see if the spring comes up further Yes, run test at WOT to allow maximum air to be drawn in. Your numbers are so low, not doing WOT would not be the issue currently Could...

Engine cut out while slowing down....

I would use the 93, the 130 would be over torque so it has to be a misprint Your serial number comes up 1982 to 1984 3.0

Engine cut out while slowing down....

In manual 3 shows it to be torqued in 3 passes to 130 ft lb Passes 55, 90 to 130 Unable to find it in manual 10 Manual 13 list 90 ft lb In any case, if the head was flat within .003 and the correct gasket was used, it would be higher then what your seeing. Measure the height of the valve...

    Fuel gauge issues

Your previous sender may be a powered type, similar to Centroid products. Need to understand what is there or could change over to the 2 wire type but this would take another gauge (if what you have is a powered sender)

    Boat trailer to utility trailer?

I took a single axle bass boat, put a deck on it that flips open in the middle with bunks. Its a flat deck for light hauling and flip the middle open and my seadoo rides on it

    Engine starts and dies.

The 5V line is critical. Any one sensor which draws to much current can cause an issue with the others It might be a simple as a loose or unconnected ground wire on the harness. One small ground wire not making a good connection can cause other sensor issues

Princess 286 hull spray rail had a hole, soaked with water

The big IF. If its just in the channel then no harm, if its made it into the hull and the foam, then there is an issue. Water will work its way thru bottom pant, gelcoat and glass. Just should know if it did

Princess 286 hull spray rail had a hole, soaked with water

Just what I have seen thru the years. Once water starts getting in, it doesn't take long. You could drill some test holes (6 to 8mm) in like the engine stringers and transom to see. The foam soaks up water fairly easy. My cruiser started with a small leak in the water tank, and by the time...

Princess 286 hull spray rail had a hole, soaked with water

Welcome aboard Terminology issue, we call that the lifting strakes. With water in that area, most likely the entire hull may need to be gutted. It won't dry out completely no mater how long its left open. The foam is most likely soaked and needs to be removed. Mold will start to grow and it...

    Electric fuel pump issues

Thanks for the SN, the starter (Gen V 92 to 94) should have the extra terminal. So it could be wired up as in the first pic Would need to understand how yours is wired and what might be the best way to change.

Fuel guage and tilt guage not working 88 nordic

Both gauges have power, a ground and a sender wire. Sounds like the Tilt is working, its just the sender is grounding out. The gauges require 240 ohm (down or empty) to 33 ohm (up or full) senders. If the sender wire is grounded the gauge shows up or full. The tilt gauge bottoming out...
