    The model # indicates long shaft with an ---L--- in it.----Or a standard 15" would have a 5" spacer to convert to long shaft.----With a picture of your actual motor it is identified in mere seconds.

    Follow these steps.----Remove points. -----Back out the little cam screw 1 turn or a little more.---Install points-----TIGHTEN DOWN the screw with that special thin flat washer.----Yes tight.-----Rotate crankshaft to open points and adjust to 0.020" with the cam screw.------You now have them set.

    There is a spot on the intake manifold near the starter motor. .----You put the 1983 model fuel pump there.----It mounts directly over the pulse port ( remove the plug first ) with a gasket and 2 screws ( 10-24 thread ) , then re-arrange hoses.----Plug VRO pulse port.
