    Look at it mate.------The starter has to turn opposite !-----The unit on top reverses the direction so that the motor starts runs the correct way.-----Some folks you are talking to are totally miss- informed !

    It will rev up to 5000 RPM in neutral running on 2 of 4 cylinders.----So your test means nothing here.----Post your compression test numbers.----And check for STRONG spark.----Good spark on that will jump a gap of 7/16" on a test device !-----Easy tests to do.----If you can find a shop to work...

    ??---Neutral , forward or reverse does not matter.--I hope I am clear with that statement.----SIMPLE----The notches on the upper and lower shift rod must line up with hole in connecter BEFORE you put the bolts in.----Move shift rods to give you the maximum room to work.

    Well----I can see the notch in your picture.----Properly assembled you can NOT SEE THAT !----And do not worry about forward or neutral.---Just position shift rods to give you maximum working room.
