    check the pot-metal fitting on the top of the H-frame pivot. the one where the cooling water hose connects to even in fresh water that fitting only lasts about 3 years

    if its a 1984 lund with a 3.0 volvo, it would have an AQ270 drive on it the OMC Cobra came out in late 1985, so if the boat is a 1984 it would not have a cobra could be a franken boat

    the pump is a GM Sagninaw pump. you only need to replace the pump ($48 from local parts store) or rebuild same pump as mid 90's GM trucks (different reservoir)

    No, the OMC stringer drive is its own design. The Mercruiser MC drive is a much better product and the are nothing alike other than both have propellers

    being a 1984, you should have the 10-spline input shaft and you will need shims to rebuild the gear box (the later ones use crush sleeves)

    you can find parts for them. however best to look used on fleabay and CL. new your looking at about $2500 for the transmission if you have a single prop, used to be SAE 30. however I would run SAE 80W-90 synthetic marine gear lube.

    Alumacraft probably doesnt have the information. most of the rigging documentation is done on notebooks. the deck is normally rigged as a complete unit, then flipped and dropped into the hull.

    look up your parts at volvopentastore.com most likely it overheated from either the raw water fitting on the drive is corroded, or the impeller was neglected.
