    I would say your kill switch has been bypassed. The kill switch disconnects 12V to the motor (ECM and or coil). In pic below this is showing how to by pass, but the purple wire comes from the key switch to the kill switch then back to the gauges (purple wire)

    Without an actual code being thrown (no mention of code from dealer) I'm skeptical that its temp related. Being close to 3K rpms the ECM may think your not in gear. Look on the shift plate and see if you have the gear switch in the pic

    There should only be two wires going to the motor, and I think the plug your talking about is the main connection. The motor it self can be powered by 12 or 24V, and gets more power using 24V. If this is the case then it would be wired as shown

    Gear to gear doesn't mean RH motor, the LH and RH motor rotate in opposite directions. These gears work the same as a chain and no gears in the middle The Paragon trans will need to be changed inside to use a different rotating motor.
