    You put a gas can on the ground.-----You remove fitting on the end of hose.-----Put hose in can and squeeze primer bulb.-----Gas tank on boat will empty.-----Do not smoke while doing this.

    Stop-----Could be a loose wire on the shift switch.--------First check and see if there is voltage going to the reverse electro magnet.-----Blue wire going into the lower unit.----Do not compare work on this thing to an outboard.-----Unless you have experience with lower unit on a 66 / 67 / 68...

    The upper gearbox is the problem area.--------The lower gear box is very good and durable.----Lots of the lowers around.----EG---I know of a few of them in my area.

    Really ?----Those needles are like your kitchen faucet.----If closed nothing can come through.-----Open them one turn and a half for upper and one turn for the lower.-----Motor should start and keep running.------Then you MUST make adjustments in the water and on the boat.

    Those are NOT vacuum lines.-----Are you pushing the key in WHILE cranking it over ?----Is there spark on the 3 leads ?-------Is the battery fully charged and load tested ?
