    What number is on your fixed air jet in your carburetors ?----What elevation are you running at ?

    Fact----You remove the 2 small screws at the top of the recoil starter.----Have your assistant lean the starter out of the way .----Then remove the 2 nuts to get the carburetor off.

    Smooth surging is usually a fuel issue.--Water in the fuel ?--Try running with a different fuel tank and hose.------Run with a timing light to see if perhaps spark has issues.

    Look into a 24' freighter canoe.----Carry everything and everybody.-------Talked to some folks that go a week at a time with a couple of them in and around the famous ---" North Channel ".-----Captain said that most folks are amazed how fast they go with 10 paddlers / canoe.

    Use an older OMC product ( 18 / 20 HP ) with the universal magneto.------Those were a dual system.----Each cylinder has it's own ignition system.-----If one failed then the other would get you home.

    Visit u-tube and you will find multiple examples in automotive engines.----They use 12 point fasteners.
