    volvo d41 zinc locations

Sorry about not noticing your post. Zinc locations vary and installing one on the prop shaft (if there is room) will not hurt and can only help. Keep in mind it needs to continue to be checked. As it wears away it can create an unbalanced issue but not normally until it is gone more then 50...

Dock sank a tad from snow

We received 6.5 inches and the weight from the snow caused the dock to sink a tad. No biggy the dock should be fine, but did notice the rear of these EZ ports are being lifted. I have two just like these and my Seadoo is still sitting on them. Just a bit of torque being applied to the hinge...

    Formula 27PC Transom Work

Well the new tank came in and it has a couple extra fittings and they changed the fill neck a bit. They make one tank for gas and diesel so the two extras are return lines for the diesel. Now with my rebuild there will be a gas return so bye bye vapor lock. Come on spring

Maybe a good project or parts.

Well went to bring the boat home and that didn't happen. Bo (Brother in law) tells me he drove it home and it had a clunk. The clunk turned out there was nothing holding the axel to the boat frame was the springs. The rods which went from the axle to the frame forward were in the boat. A...

454 Starts..Hops on plane, backfires and stalls. Restarted

Another idea would be to remove plug from the other output (arrow going out) and install a fitting there to attach the gauge.

    1988 Johnson 30Hp won't stop with key

Howdy Karl and :welcome: to iboats To start an outboard motor the ground connection is removed from the magneto. To turn the motor off a ground is applied. You need to look at the black wires going to and from the key switch. One of the black wires (magneto) should go to ground (-), and the...

    Mercruiser 5.7L Closed Cooling

IMO even the SB needs to have a thermostat bypass. This is either done by a hose coming from the top of the pump or by using a bypass hose with the thermostat housing you posted previously. The fitting on top would not need to be used with this housing unless a hot water heater was installed...

    Mercruiser 5.7L Closed Cooling

Something didn't sound right about not having the hose. The hose should be there and uses a NPT to barbed fitting. This is a marine intake shows the opening on the left side besides the thermostat opening

    Mercruiser 5.7L Closed Cooling

As Scott mentioned your going to need a different thermostat housing. This one is for a GM 350 and includes an inboard transmission cooler. Note the cooling going to the exhaust elbows come from the heat exchanger separately. On this one there is a Tee fitting which takes a single out put...

    Tilt Push Button Question

Here is the wiring diagram which shows the use of relays inline. By using relays there is very little current going across the contacts of the switch. So a light duty Single Pole Double Throw (SPDT) momentary ON / OFF/ momentary ON (what your calling spring loaded toggle) switch will work. It...

    Water pressure sensor replacement

The pressure sensor is located on the power steering cooler as Chris mentioned. If you do not have regular PS but have hydraulic steering, the cooler is replaced with a brass tube. The tube or cooler is on the back of the engine and the sensor is screwed into it. See item 39

Volvo Penta Trin Gauges inaccurate after refit 5.0 OSI

As a non-VP expert I'll supply the following: It's my understanding that VP with the DP drives started using digital gauges which required digital senders. The 3-wire sender varies resistance between 100 ohms and 800 to 1100 ohms, and 700 ohms steady when rotated and measured on the outer wires...
