Lost trim gauge and water temp indications

Yes. Trim sender wires are somewhere coming in through the transom. Yes, doing the tests will help you figure out whether it's the wiring, the senders, or the gauges.

Lost trim gauge and water temp indications

Engine bay One lead of the gauge goes to engine ground, the other goes to the (tan, or brn/wht) sender wire

Lost trim gauge and water temp indications

I thought I did... I'll try again Step 2 just use a voltmeter connected to ground on 1 side and sender wire disconnected on the other side (tan is water, brn/wht trim). You should get 12v, gauge reads 0/all the way to the left. Next ground the sender wire, and the gauges should peg to the right.

Lost trim gauge and water temp indications

    1. Locate the sensor. 2. Verify that you have 12v in Key on: 3. Disconnect the sender wire. Gauge should go to 0. 4. Ground sender terminal, gauge should peg

89 centry palimino with a 3.7 mercruser charging issue.

Oh, misunderstood. Mine was a breezeworks conversion.

No problems when I did mine, took about an hour. The included alt seized after a year though

    Crank, no spark. Need advice.

If you did the test correctly and there's no spark, next step is replace the coil (rarely bad), and if that doesn't work, replace ignition module (very rarely bad). Ignition sensor is the most common fail point, so make sure you're testing correctly. I also saw a post advising you to reconnect...

Boat won’t start, have spark and fuel

"tad dim"... Should be blue. Use a gap you're tester if there's doubt. Did you mess with the distributor or cap? Did you ensure that the #1 plug wire is aligned with the rotor when the engine is at TDC? Also pour some gas down the carb to rule out fuel problem if you've exhausted other...

    Air Fuel Ratio Carb Tuning

I'm dying to do this. Those numbers seem rich. Might try to see what the TBI models run at. Esp with the Holley sniper systems you might be able to find that out relatively easily

I still have yet to see anyone successfully replace the regulator with something else... Would love to see it.

    Drive stuck in forward position

Just to be clear: if you turn the shifter all the way clockwise, and hold it there while turning the prop CCW, the prop should lock. If it doesn't you have bigger problems, and might need to be looking for a new drive.

    Find us the right boat

Bravos don't have that problem, which is what's likely on a boat that size

    Drive stuck in forward position

You're off a tooth; that shifter should be straight ahead in forward. Was the drive split for servicing? If not, and you don't know the maintenance history of the boat, it's time to replace the impeller anyway. Also, on the second video it doesn't look like the roller on the shift shaft is...

Best ratio for 4.3MPI swap into 20ft Caribbean

I actually went down from a 21 to a 19 when I did my swap, gained about 500 RPM. I should have more, but still don't think my carb is dialed in correctly. The 4.3 runs smooth and effortlessly with a ton of torque at 3500 RPM cruising, Doesn't matter whether I have one or eight aboard.

Holley Terminator EFI tuning 98 Baja outlaw24

Nice theoretical thing about this system is that it should be easy to tune. What was the magic box telling you about your mixture?

Best ratio for 4.3MPI swap into 20ft Caribbean

You shouldn't need to change the u-joint shaft. For low-end pop, might even keep your current prop, but you'll have to water test it to see. Assuming you have a 1.84 on there already?

Starting Issue After Unrelated Mech Repairs

You might be surprised. However, if you have to pull the starters anyway, you might as well go ahead and replace them with PMGR starters, which are a huge improvement, and are much much easier to maneuver in there. Probably worth bench testing them after you pull them to confirm that that's the...

    04 Mercruiser 5.0 bogging down @2500rm

Yeah, not much of a test to rev it without a load Did you check to see what's in your filter? Gas/crud/water? Recheck your firing order. Open the gas tank next time it acts up and see if it hisses/is pulling a vacuum.
