Re: '61 Crestliner Arabian Deluxe resto The new front aluminum emblem plaque came today. I could not be any happier with this part. It is the only thing that faces foreward on the engine. So the 23 bucks was worth it to me. And here's what I sent to the decal people that are making the other...

    Is a 1965 Johnson 3Hp a good motor?

Thinking about buying this little motor. What are the pitfalls, and what should I be watchful of besides the regular stuff? The guy is asking $150.00 and says it has all the parts and is in good to very good condition. I am thinking about offering $75.00 is that fair? What else should go with...

Re: '61 Crestliner Arabian Deluxe resto Built the engine stand and removed the fatty. That thing is pretty heavy for a 50 HP! The chain fall worked great, and there were no unforeseen issues or mishaps, thank goodness.

    1957 Duracraft Duraflite Custom

Re: 1957 Duracraft Duraflite Custom Sorry to hear about that epoxy. That kinda worries me about starting my glass-o-matic. That 50 does look like original paint, if it wasn't, you could see the original color where the red is chipped..??... Looks like a flat day on the gulf, going out this...

    1957 Duracraft Duraflite Custom

Re: 1957 Duracraft Duraflite Custom My engine weighs approximately 225 pounds! I found a chain fall on CL for 15 bucks, so I'm gonna get that and reinforce the trusses by jacking them with vertical 2x4's. I will post that escapade! LOL, I will have to do it by myself. All my friends are too old...

Re: '61 Crestliner Arabian Deluxe resto Well here's my attempt at saving the original bow light. It was horribly pitted and was almost laid to rest. But it was bead blasted semi-filled and painted and cleared like the rest of the brightwork. I can always make them better in the future. The flag...

Re: '61 Crestliner Arabian Deluxe resto This is another boat just like mine, it is the same construction. Same plywood behind the engine mount. The floor was painted, that is all that was done to it. I am almost positive this floor is original. When the balsa wood is removed, the bottom layer...

    '61 Crestliner Arabian Deluxe resto

Re: '61 Crestliner Arabian Deluxe resto Well I hit a new low point for the restoration. I opened up the little crack in the floor and OMG, it is all soft and wet. :-( The interesting thing, and somewhat of a good thing, is that there are no stringers in this area. It looks like little 1" thick...
