    Lifting the Johnson

Re: Lifting the Johnson Got the new starter lug soldered on. It is a bit bigger than the old one but I can always make the connector bigger if I have to. brushes were in excellent condition, eveyrthing looked good. After all this worked when I got it, just the lug was badly cracked and...

    Lifting the Johnson

Re: Lifting the Johnson I finished reworking the electrical box. It came out quite well. I reused the voltage regulator, I'm pretty sure it is still working (although not sure. Also not sure which terminals are what). But, all I need is the starter motor fixed and I can fire it up again!

Was this trailer made at a facory, or is it a frankentrailer?

March-April 20013 127 | Flickr - Photo Sharing! Can anyone identify this trailer? Someone painted it an awesome "special" blue color over everything including the rust. Lifting the Johnson

Re: Lifting the Johnson The bail wire is noted in the service manual but it never says this is what you use to lift it. It is located on the top of the motor attached by two pretty large bolts. It is folded down in the photo, and it clips into the retainer when in this position. Thanks for the...

    Lifting the Johnson

I have a 1959 Johnson super sea horse 50 HP, yes the famous gas hog. I hav never lifted an outboard before, but I have all the equipment to do it from my other "projects". Is the Bail wire at the top of the motor what I use to lift it? And an unrelated electrical question.....the plug connecting...
