Starting your car in this cold weather.

50's through 80's Chryslers...pump gas 3x, turn key and listen to that unique starter lol. My grandfather's 1948 46' Chris-Craft had twin 413 Chryslers...."I" was the choke. Quickly got past any fear I had as a child of standing literally next and/or overtop an engine starting or running...

Sh!t, well before that. Pretty much every car by that point either had a divorced or electric choke. I just hit the remote start. The SRT hasn't moved in about 2 weeks so it isn't particularly happy.

    Careful what ya wish for…

If you can do it yourself, the cost will be limited to materials and time. I did this to a 1975 Crestliner Crusader C775 (17.5') about 15 years ago....gutted it, new stringers, deck, carpet, seats, engine box (mine was an outdrive, this won't apply to you), seats, wiring, drive etc. Swore I'd...

Luckily for me there's towers all over the Bay and pretty much anywhere I generally go lol. My go to is 'Marine Ways'.

The Argo App, The Waze Type App for Water Navigation. Free

I've been trying this out for a few months now. It isn't bad, doesn't always use the best route in reality (or one that I may choose based on conditions or experience) but I don't hate it. I was actually considering paying for it so I could use the multiple vessel feature and be able to use it...

I am starting to believe some of the global warming in N J.

Unheard of in NJ my ass....used to happen during summer all the time in South Jersey from the 70's to the 90's that I can personally vouch for lol.

Partsvu - are they legit and OK to buy from or?

So far they seem to be one of the better sources of Yamaha parts short of buying directly from Yamaha. There's only one Yamaha marine dealer reasonably close to me; if I need it quickly then I go to them otherwise I order from PartsVu.

    Bent skeg on outboard

Let it ride until you manage to take a large chunk out of it. If you feel like it's affecting steering significantly you can try adjusting the trim tab to compensate. I just had mine repaired (local prop shop here does them for a good price) but half of it was gone and had bent a blade, so I...

I know that place, right around the corner from Station Eatons Neck. Spent time between Eatons Neck and Kings Point years back.
