    I grounded out both wires but the gauge didn't move and the alarm didn't sound. I traced the wires into the cabin, the tan wire goes to the gauge and the tan/blue wire goes to the alarm.     The engine had been sitting for so long that 4 valve stems were badly corroded and when I went to turn the engine over it bent 4 push rods, 3 on one head and one on the other, so I had to take both heads off to clean everything.

    I can block off most of those hoses but I'm not quite understanding how to block off the risers to the Y-pipe connection? Can I actually block it off at the exhaust exit on the transom assembly?

    How to do new distributor timing on Mercruiser 7.4 Gen V?

    My distributor and ignition coil wires all go into that module mounted on the exhaust elbow. So I don't need to worry about putting it in base timing mode, just run it at ~700rpm (in the water I'm assuming?) then set it to 8 BTDC?

    How do I lock my distributor into base timing mode? I don't have the 2 white wires or the purp wire, all my wires go to some type of control module. @Bt Doctur said to just set the timing mark to 0 at TDC and the computer does the rest?
