Thanks Scott. ;) Mid 60's were just a bit before my time turning wrenches.

    Carburator frustration

Thanks for the info. (y) I've really only been a GM mechanic with an occasional Ford. Never messed with Mopar. :cautious: After the little research I did noticed it wasn't exactly like a Q-jet other than it incorporated similar metering rods (kind of).

Do I need diodes or should I run a relay for trim switch

I just did a quick Google search. The trim motors seem to work on reverse polarity. This might help -

    NJ license plate for trailer

I'm facing the same scenario here in NH. I bought mine from Maine, it's all old enough that I don't need a title. But because it was last registered in Maine I need a VIN verification performed by my local PD. The trailer VIN number was only on a sticker for my brand and you can't read it at...

Do I need diodes or should I run a relay for trim switch

I don't know anything regarding trim kits. A diode and relay function totally different than each other. A diode only allows the electrical current to flow in one direction. A relay is activated from a low power source to allow a higher power source to feed the main circuit. Does the trim...

    Carburator frustration

Okay, my bad! Edelbrock carbs are designed based off of a Q-jet. After a little research for trying to help you they did a few things different. So it's NOT just a rebranded Q-jet, it just uses similar technology with a twist. Just curious... How did you know the problem was when the...

I've driven some sketchy vehicles with problems but I wouldn't risk that adventure.

    Carburator frustration

Going from a Holley 500 CFM to an Edelbrock 600 CFM shouldn't be a problem. Bogging during throttle increase, especially quick increase can be caused by a few problems. Ignition system, fuel system before the carburetor, vacuum leak below the throttle plate, lean condition in the carburetor...

    Dock lighting and piling questions

At one of my local lakes a summer resident did a nice fancy job with his dock and patio. He had solar LED lights that were builtin under the caps. They looked really sweet, gave off enough light to see to walk and see the light from a distance. It was more of a glowing light than looking at a...

Dont know how to sell starcraft 1974

No doubt old aluminum boats are bringing more money than old fiberglass boats. I'm just saying check your local market or references as to the value of what ever boat you're trying to sell. Different locales usually have different values. Example: Growing up in CT I was keen on keeping up with...

You should be able to find some ads for boats for sale in your area. You could also look up pricing on NADA,

Dont know how to sell starcraft 1974

Actually yes. Seems everyone around here might be checking NADA, the selling prices are up there as not many head to the far off marines looking for new boats. I live in a very rural area in NH surrounded by lakes. I had to drive to Maine to score a deal, but on a fixer upper.

Considering moving and changing my type of boat(ing) and want opinions

I live in New Hampshire and have run into and talked with some people that regularly visit the Great Lakes. Yes they can get quiet choppy and windy, but not as bad as an ocean. If one of your interest as in the original post suggested was water skiing and tubing, how big of a boat can you go...

How about using the OHM function and test the foot pedal disconnected from the motor. See if you are getting a reading between green and yellow. That would isolate the pedal. I'm not sure how the switches/foot pedal operates. It might send full juice through one circuit or possibly reverse the...

Considering moving and changing my type of boat(ing) and want opinions

The Great Lakes and ocean are one heck of a haul from each other. If you're moving closer to the Great Lakes why not take your boat with you? Sure there will be days that the water might be to rough but at least you'll have something while you see what others are using. I spent most of my life...

Dont know how to sell starcraft 1974

Well NADA claims it's value around $1700. boat alone, no trailer or motor. I can only think of selling on Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist or local newspaper classifieds. Maybe you can handle the listing and selling for him?

    Landlocked salmon fishing questions

My son is buggin... He thinks we'll need a baitcaster, almost like those deep saltwater rigs, down riggers, etc... I'm trying to explain to him we'll be fine to start with our spincasting gear and about 12-15lb line. Maybe even a dipsy diver which a local sports shop suggested for starting...
