    RPMs too high?

Well... if you push it to the limits for an extended length of time your car will start to run too hot. It would be more a kin to a race car engine. At a certain RPM level the motor is making max horse power. But yet it still drives fine at slower (lower RPM's) speeds.

    RPMs too high?

Sorry for stepping in and asking a question on someone else's thread. But I didn't want to start a new one for similar question so... When and if I get my boat in the water should I concern myself with prop and tilt/pitch? As far as I know everything has been the same since 1978. I'm not...

Mercury 500 50hp - year unknown, have questions

WOW never would have guessed that to be a switch. Thank you! Will it be a problem as bad as it is trying to test run the motor? Also, is a replacement available? Been having trouble finding like break down schematics online that show's such things.

Mercury 500 50hp - year unknown, have questions

I spent a few hours just looking the motor over with my son (better eye sight LOL). I found a condenser looking part behind the solenoid which has one wire on one end and two on the other. The wires I can trace are attached to a ground. One of those wires the insulation is cracked open and the...

    14 ft fishing boat

I originally was thinking about building a live well into my boat rehab. A bit expensive since I wanted at the bow, but the more I thought about it I really don't need one. I don't plan on entering any fishing derby's so I don't need to keep the fish alive. A nice size cooler with ice will work...

    Installing a new asphalt driveway

Don't let the driveway installers fool you. Sealing the driveway is just cosmetic and does NOT need to be done. Have you ever seen public roads sprayed with liquid tar? My old boss/owner never pushed sealing even when times got difficult.
