    Chrysler 65hp clutch dog problem

Just received the NOS remote I bought of the german ebay, I was damn lucky to find this and the total cost was lower than ordering the missing bushings in the states with all the tax and shipping. There's even a little instruction book with it describing how to mount the cable depending on the...

Chrysler 65hp telltale and temp. sensor

While waiting for parts for other projects on the engine I installed a telltale and a temperature sensor. On my engine there's a stainless plug right on top of the block and that's where I mounted the telltale. I thought about putting the temp sensor in there as well, in a Tee, but I didn't have...

    Chrysler 65hp clutch dog problem

Don't you think it's about time to start doing it right after 35 years? I did it wrong for 2 weeks then I figured out something didn't add up. I my country we call people that can't actually troubleshot parts replacers, and then there's mechanics. How is it your job to make sure the info given...

I hope you do stick around! You seem like a nice guy and you definitely kept your cool longer than I would have been able to, with all the salty remarks through this post.

    Chrysler 65hp clutch dog problem

I don't know if I'm the only one who knows, it appears that not that many has taken the time to actually understand how and why. Your condescending and arrogant post in the other thread made me realize what kind of person you are! And I don't tolerate arrogant or condescending people. When on a...

    Sparkplug reading

I think these plugs are hard to read vs normal plugs. But what's the problem with the engine? Could it be that number 3 have been hotter allowing for the carbon to stick? Guess you'll have to wait for the experts to chime inn.

Pimping my Chrysler 65hp, thoughts and ideas

I didn't know there was a formula for trumpets or at least didn't think about it. They will also be muffled and restricted quite a lot. Functional but mostly for show. I love the look of the old Chrysler stackers, and stackers in general! But in today's world it's not possible to produce that...

Pimping my Chrysler 65hp, thoughts and ideas

Got the trumpets welded as best I could and just needs a little bit more on making them look good. Now I'm waiting for the last bits to arrive so I can continue with the idea. The lower leg turned out great I think.

    Chrysler 65hp clutch dog problem

More problems found and fixed. Turned out the lever under the carbs had significant play in it because the alu lever got worn against the SS shaft. I had already drilled a 4mm hole through the shaft and lever to reduce the wobble, but it wasn't doing much. I then gave it a bit of thinking on how...

Force 125 1986, hole in front of lower unit weeping oil

Well then you would have to be creative and think up a solution. Depending on how far up the threaded section goes when screwed all the way in and the rod is pulled back, you could have a round alu stock machined to accept a regular chrysler shaft seal at one end, raise it up a bit and weld it...

My thoughts as well. A treaded section against the shaft seal is going to leak and ruin the seal.

    Low Compression on Cylinder #2

When you get it bored it will require oversize pistons! and worn cylinders out of spec will require a bore. I would recommend you get all barrels measured and then take it from there. If they are out of spec, have them bored at the same time. But do change the rings on all cylinders and get a...

Force 125 1986, hole in front of lower unit weeping oil

A bicycle pump would be a great idea and that way you can safely increase pressure to around 10 psi and see if it leaks. Be careful not to blow your seals! Maybe get one of those refill kits for gear oil and use that adapter for the thread.

Just started making the cones for the exhaust stacks. It's not easy, but they are impossible to find in that size around here. Well I will see how they turn out further down the line.

Ok and you decide what is good info then? I had a suspicion, but by now you certainly removed all doubts.... How arrogant do one have to be, to think they know more than someone they've never meet or know. My experience comes from almost as many years working as a mechanic, owning several...

    Water in gear oil

It's never a good thing to have water in the oil. It's not normal, but it's not a bad case either and besides a little foaming the oil look pretty good. If you have to use it before you can fix it I would be very aware of the condition after sailing. Maybe even let it sit for a little while...

    Chrysler 65hp clutch dog problem

Hi Jerry I already tried to adjust under the carbs earlier, but like I said I lack 3mm total throw somewhere in the system. Most likely the remote control and then of course some play from there to the gearbox itself. There is actually only 2 holes in the shift lever, confirmed by looking online...
