Add an additional piece of plywood under where the pedestals will go.

Many of us know the steps that got you to this point.

Looks great, hard work, inspiration, a goal.

Have 6-12 beers, I did!!!!!!

well, as said on your other thread, your dash indicates PTT switches, so must attach there

I wanted to be able to store fishing rods and other long items so they don't get damaged when navigating rough water. I though that would be the best area to store them when under way. I learned a lesson while covering the plywood headers, I should have wrapped the carpet from the visable side to the non visable side becuase you can see the seam. Oh well, its dark down there and would have to be looking for it I think. But I know its there.

Its a neat concept, just wondering if the placement of a seat pedestal base, and the seat itself would be a hassle when sliding rods in and out?

I have seen a false floor added down the centerline to the bow tip. I may fiddle with this on mine, but I use this method currently:

I plan on adding some verticle rod holders to store rods when on the water. I can shove skis and what ever else up in those front storage areas now. I plan on using Springfield marine detachable bases for my seats so they can be removed.

I am working on installing my gas tank. I found the gas gauge sending unit wires but there is another wire in the same bunch that I have no idea where it goes. Any ideas? It is two wires into one round lug.

PINK sender, and a picture would help, fuel filler cap needs grounding to NEG post of battery anti-static, that may be the other wire?

I have seen the black ground wire from the sender to a screw on the tank, from there, ground can be split off also to the filler cap, and a lead to the NEG post.

Use a multimeter for continuity. What color is the other wire?

Re: 1977 Starcraft SUS 18' I/0 - Need interior help

Just ordered my seat hardware from www.springfieldmarinescratchanddent.com
I am putting an adjustable height seat in the front and one in the back in front of the motor. I ordered a drivers rated seat pedestal with front to back adjustment and a passenger rated seat mount for the passengers side. Saved alot of money too. All that stuff cost me less than $200.00. So with the big Cabela's sale on seats I am getting the whole works for about $350.00.

see the link I attached for wiring of a fuel gauge

anyways, if you ran a black ground from the battery to the sender and split it off to the filler, that works as the connection maintains continuity, meaning both are connected to the ground

I had some funky original and hacked up wiring also, wierd colors, that is why a multimeter was needed to sort it out

look at the linked diagram, but in essence

pink wire from center of sender to fuel gauge "S"

black wire to NEG 12v battery post from sender cap, and pig to fuel cap

on your fuel gauge, follow the diagram, but you get switched power from the Ign which lights up the gauge.

I did NOT have switched power to anywhere on my original dash because the only 2 gauges were SPEEDO, which was pitot, and the fuel gauge according to prev owner never worked, and I fixed that.

Ok, I ohmed out the wire to the S terminal of the gauge to verify I have the correct wire going to the sender. The wires with the screw in the connection lug was indeed a ground and I'm guessing that screw is one of the three that hold the fuel filler cap in place. Thanks for the help.
