Trim pump turned out great !
10 yrds should get you going and be pretty close just guessing ...

Sorry to hear about your dad.

A few points. When priming with the ZP primer. Only a LIGHT coat is required. You then should follow up with 2-3 coats of the recommended primer for the Color coats you will be applying. In your case Clean Metal Primer would have been the primer of choice.

10 yds of 50" 1708 as sphelps stated is probably close. 5 gallons of resin, 2lbs of cabosil, 1/2 lb of chopped strand. That's where I'd start.

Today we picked up 5 gallons of resin, 10 yards of 50" 1708, and 2 lbs of 1/4" chop strand, I have 2 gallons of cabosil and will pick up more if needed (LBI is less than 30 min away).

As far as the painting and priming goes, I understand that only a light coat of ZP was needed, however I want to make the trim pump as corrosion resistant as possible since we will be using the boat primarily in saltwater.

Just want to let everyone we are still here, just been that my dad's back is still bothering him and he's doing most of the fiberglass work, will post another update once we make some more progress. I'm also back at work now so I only have the weekends free now.

More progress:

New stringers built, fiberglassed, sanded, and dry fit. Ready to start building bulkheads and getting everything bedded with PB and tabbed in with csm and 1708.



I also bought a truck this week, a 1996 Ford F150 4x2 with 302 V8 and auto tranny for $1500.

Looks like a pretty nice deal for 1500 bucks ... A little rust but for the money who cares ... ;)

It is, needs a little bit of work (manifold to converter flange studs, radius arm bushings, license plate lights are out) but it runs and drives well. For me it will be used primarily for going to outboard club meets (I collect old outboards), pulling my boat (14' Lund), and cruising around. I'll still drive my 2006 Escape Hybrid daily.

Been busy here with work, working on my truck, but we are starting to get back into it. Unfortunately my dad is now facing a left shoulder replacement after hurting it after his rotator cuff surgery. But a little more progress has been made, pics to follow this weekend.
