That's what I'm thinking too! If it's gelcoat then i'd remove all the loose gelcoat that I could then clean the areas well with acetone and then I'd mix up some gelcoat paste (gelcoat thickened with cabosil and fill the areas with it.) If you're going to be painting then trying to match the color is not important. Sand and fair and you're ready to paint.

I was curious I am impressed with the Majik tractor paint so I'm going to do the outside with it as well. I am wanting to go with fighting lady yellow or something very similar. can I take it somewhere and have it colored or is there another paint I can buy at lowes or like places and have them mix the color for me?

You can do it yourself. Get some of the John Deere Yellow and use it as a base then what ever other colors that are required to tint it to match the specific color you're looking for. Start with 100 cc of the yellow and then add the tints at specific ratios and take notes. Once you get the color you can up the numbers. It's really not that hard to do.

It depends on How Light. If Really Light then start with White. If Mid Yellow then start with the Yellow. A quart of Yellow and a Quart of White and some acetone will get you where you need to be.

I had a question on the rub rail. I removed it and it is the style that rope goes into to cover screws. There was not previously any there and I was wanting to put rope back in there when I reinstall it. What type of rope is normally used and how do I determine proper style?
