Might be a brp issue really. My 115 E-tec harness wouldn't turn over one winter after shutting it down for the season. Months later, I tried to start it and no starter spin or power...gauges or anything.
Screwed around a little while the key was in the on position and all of a sudden the pumps turned on loading the injectors...I was holding the harness near where it came out of the boat back by the motor well.
Long story short, took a fabric ripper and carefully snip back the outer sheathing exposing the loom of individual wires. Chased every wire with my thumb nail until I found the culprit ...hot lead.
I had extra wire so I pulled it into the outboard and redid every connection. This happened twice in 3 years.
2nd repair, I spliced in larger marine wire right where the harness exited the boat feeding into the convoluted tubing.
Turns out all the "kid tubing fun" had damaged the wire. Note, wires are ridiculously small and not marine wire (no tinning).
Never had the problem again but always wondered had I not got lucky while adjusting the harness how long it would have took to diagnose the issue. Everything was brand new (outboard, control box, harness, everything).
Not one of brp best designs if you ask me.
Hopefully this will help others.
