Score!!!!!
I ran across some unadvertised sale price discontinued indoor/outdoor carpet at the nearby help me store. They were discontinuing this carpet at a price of $0.19/ square foot. I was able to buy enough to carpet the whole boat for under 40 bucks. For now I can make this work, maybe someday if it wears out I will then be able to replace it with a better quality carpet, but for now this will be fine.

Nice score. To go with it, the Home Depot Roberts 6700 carpet adhesive works really well and is cheap too.

Great score on the carpet. You will be surprised at how good that carpet will look. I used the cheap Home Depot carpet along with their 6700 adhesive and it looks great.

Nice job on the deck and great idea with the bags of cement. I used all kinds of crap from my yard and garage to hold mine down while the PL was drying.

As I type this I am in the process of installing 2 part foam in the sections of the deck that are ready for it. Pretty neat stuff. Temperature definitely makes a difference. The hull and deck were cool but in the shop that I'm at has a radiant heater about 12 above the boat. Cranked that baby up and definitely helped. next time if foam I will make sure the boat is warmed up so the foam will expand better.

Re: 87 Sea Ray Seville

Just dropping a quick update on the project. I am in the process of completing the deck. Currently waiting on some more epoxy resin and 2 part foam from US Composites to show up, then I can finish foaming under the deck and finish the 2 layers of glass/resin on top. Attched is a picture of the deck as it sits now. I made two new seat boxes for the driver and passenger seats. Need to do a couple of touch ups then start to seal them with resin and once the deck is complete, attach them to the deck.

http://

Once U have these installed I will set the cap back on to double check positioning for the other seats and make sure the cap fits before I glass the sides making it difficult to assemble.

I know I shouldn't do it but I set a deadline for the first of July to be finished. Hope I can make it.

Until next time

Looks great dude. July leaves you plenty of time. It is getting warmer and you will have more good weather to get the jobs done.

Re: 87 Sea Ray Seville

Major, well maybe not, set back tonight, was out to set the cap back on the vessel. In all of my precautions, measurements, and what nots, I did not take care of one thing  I did not measure my cap/beam to make sure it would fit before I glassed the deck. Sure enough the hull separated enough that I won't be able to get the cap back on unless I grind out the edges of my deck, remove foam, pull the hull together, set the cap on, and then glass the deck back in.

Talk about the blood sweat and tears, tonight I had each one of them.

Oh well, it may have set me back a week, but I still should have plenty of time before my deadline gets here.

Look a nice little gap.

A look down the side

yuck

IMG00002-20110401-0019.jpg

Looks like I have an underbite with the boat.

Oh well, the encouragement here keeps me motivated, could use a little more right now.

I really do not think it will be that bad. It should be able to be pushed back into place.

Considered using a ratchet strap across the widest part of the hull near the windshield area to see if it may pull in? Sure would be a lot easier to fill in a hole or two in the hull than remove and re-install your floor. Ouch... sorry to see that.

Re: 87 Sea Ray Seville

After several hoursof sweat, mumbling, grumbling, talking to myself, no beer, 9 (yes 9) wratchet straps at the same time,2 large relief cuts, 2 2x4's, a cadillac, and a partidge in a pear tree, (Thought that would be funny) the cap is back on the hull.

I will have to do some work on the deck to build it back up, but that won't take very long.

Enjoy the pictures

100_1687.jpg

I oversized this relief cut a bit much.

100_1686.jpg

This relief cut was the width of two circular saw blades.

I even had to take the picture of myself by myself.:D
One happy captain.

until next time

Nice job Tink. Way to get at it and make it work! ...and it doesn't look like you lost much time after all.

Re: 87 Sea Ray Seville

Just came in from working on the boat, not much progress tonight. All I did tonight was try and align the cap and screw/5200 it into place. Next step is to gather the needed parts and haul it back to the heated shop in town. Will start fabricating the front seats and the rear seats. Second coat the bilge area with bilgekote and I will be ready to install the gimbal housing and transom plate.

Re: 87 Sea Ray Seville

Not much on the boat tonight, but I did pull it off of the trailer to adjust the fenders. After installed the new bow stop the boat sat about 2 inches further forward on the trailer. Pulled the sides off of the fenders, got the grinder with a flapper wheel and a cutoff tool and went to town. took about an inch off of the fenders on the trailing edge while tapering up to the center. After reinstalling everything and putting the boat back on the trailer, the boat does not rub the fenders. Before it rubbed really bad.

I also put in some of the back cushions and such so when I go back to fabrication on the back seats I will know where things will go and how to cut them.

I am so glad you got that cap back on. I would hate for a build to go south for something like that. Nice work.
