Cool! I get to be the 200th post to what used to be a boating topic. <br /><br />Jtexas – just a reminder; democracy IS one the worst forms of government. That is why our founding fathers did everything they could to avoid it. We live in a Republic, specifically, a Constitutional Republic. “I pledge allegiance to the flag of the U.S. of A. … and to the REPUBLIC for which it stands…” <br /><br />Franklin had a way of putting into one or two lines what the rest of us would require a book to communicate: <br /><br />“Democracy is two wolves and lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Freedom is a well armed lamb.” -Benjamin Franklin.

18rabbit, I stand corrected! even though the fedral gummit describes itself as democratic, and the terms are used interchangeably far too often, the distinction is more than semantic and we would do well to remember that. Thanks.
