Re: bye bye Boats and Guns???????

It seems like many of the people for gun control don't have a vested interest in guns, simply because they know very little about them or don't own one, or never grew up with them or something.

So, when will "they" get to something that you care about. What about the freedom of the press? We don't really need that, do we? All these bad things they say in the media do nothing but damage reputations and businesses and incite riots, even.
Or what about religion? Maybe that would get some of you anti-gun people fired up. The government deciding that they know the best religion, and you will follow it.

The point is, this is the US Constitution. Like or leave it. If you are so against it, maybe you should head on out.

By deleting this thread, you will be contributing to censorship. Let it run it's course. If there are people that are offended, tell them to not look anymore. Pick a different topic to view. No one has forced them to click multiple times to get here and no one is forcing them to read the entire thread.

One thing that is correct, untrained people with weapons are dangerous. The constitution was written when everyone had a gun, for protection or food or whatever. They knew how to handle them. That should be a pre-requisite now.

"Cold, dead fingers."

Jason
Good luck, all. God bless.

Re: bye bye Boats and Guns???????

well if someone else wants to start this topic again be my guest personally am tired of it. I think we have all experssed our views and we can only go downhill from here. So down it goes in ten minutes unless Admin will just freeze the post which would save us from doing this all over again if someone asked the same question because there are some good views in here. What do you say ADMIN? Please :D

So guys,
youre still clucking around the same topic,
I propose you a deal: I will let my gun at home every time I go boating, also I will never put a gun in somebodys a**(boater) and also I will not go South Sioux City to try to find which one of the 42 Millers listed in SSC Directory from Burl Miller to William Miller is Moose Miller,; and all you have to do is vote to DELETE THIS TOPIC.

Speed always you can or want, but never in crowded areas or narrow channels.......Peace :)

For the record, I am NOT a man! My comment to that effect was in sarcasm. If anyone else doubts me or Laurie's (3 girls thread) gender, we'll start threads on "what's the best depilatory" or the best foundation, or, god forbid, the best birth control method! THAT should show you. LOL.

Admin, admin, where are ye? We're floundering in the gutter here...

Moose My Man
Have you ever given a thought as to what good citizenship means? You constantly point out how you own guns too, but you don't seem to realize that there is a real threat that we all could very easily loose that right. Couldn't happen here you say. Tell that to the Austrailians.

It is exactly guys like you who partake of the benifits of our freedoms but have no idea of what it takes to defend them who will be the reason for the loss of them. I think you said you own an autoloader. Will you like it when the Gvt. tells you that you now own a banned weapon and must hand it over or become a criminal. Couldn't happen here you say. Tell that to a Californian.

You don't need to carry a gun you say. Good more power to you. I have never been threatened myself and its a pain to haul one around all the time, but I kind of feel like it's my duty because if I see a cop in trouble or someone walking around in a resteraunt killing people, I can do something more than push buttons on a cell phone. Have you seen that new ad on the tube where the guys house is being broken into and what does he do? Why punch buttons on his new electronic gadget, thats the intellegent way to defend yourself, call for help. That is the prime example of lamb behavior. Expect the gvt. to protect you. Does it occur to you that the gvt. has no obligation at all to protect you. Their roll starts after a crime has been committed.

I don't care if you carry guns or not, I don't care if you own guns or not, but I do care when you say that other people should or should not carry them. The bill of rights is a precious document and we need to be careful to defend every part of it. When we are armed we are citizens. If we are disarmed, we become subjects.

Re: bye bye Boats and Guns???????

Thanks for clearing that up mom. Even after reading that post in "owners manual" your prior post here made the most sense. Moms do indeed know best.

Search of ADMIN posts reveals the thread starter delete capability is disabled. Maybe he will lock the thread for us at least. I suspect this has been painfull duty from each of our perspectives. I have respect for the humor and guts of all who posted. This is my last post unless called out. Re: bye bye Boats and Guns???????

I read through much of this post and the followups and regardless of the issue that has sprung up I will state
1. I carry a firearm throught most if not all of my outdoor activites be it hunting, boating, camping or just a plain walk through the woods.
2. It has saved my life on more than one occasion due to snakes, agressive drunks at a boat ramp and even an attacking mother pig which we banked a canoe and disturbed.
3. I will continue to carry a firearm as long as the law allows.
4. When the law no longer allows me to carry my firearm, which I might add has saved my life, I will become an outlaw.
5. No amount of talking, ranting or raving will change mine or anyone elses mind.
6. And finally I guess I won't ask the question I was going to concerning a suggestion for a new firearm to carry boating.

Capt. Bob your shootn blanks..........
I have at one time owned several guns, 12,20 ga. 4/10, 22 rif. sold them all when my son was born, due to all the negative about young children playin around and hurting them or others. Overkill some will say.....I dont regret doing it to this day.

Guns remain to a deeply religious controversy, with the two main denominations being "us" and "them". In the unlikely event you are asked which group you belong to, the correct answer is:"I'm an atheist, thank God". Then change the subject.

Re: bye bye Boats and Guns???????

Hay Cpt. Bob why did you take your posts down? I have not read them yet. A heated debate in the right place is nothing to shy away from. For the most part everyone is being professional.

I dont personaly cary a gun onboard, just for the fact that I have never needed one. Upon reading some of the other posts on what can happen, I think I might start. I couldnt think of what I would do in some of the sitiuations mentioned above without a firearm. I think a 22cal pistol would be enough in about every inland sitiuation I can think of. After all there is no such thing as an accident, it always is a mistake.

DC
