CALIFORNIA'S 'GAY HISTORY' BILL ADVANCES

Schools Will Promote Same-Sex 'Marriages'

Even sex-change operations to kids

A California Senate committee has approved a bill requiring "gay history" to be included in public school textbooks. The bill now moves to the full Senate, where a vote may come next week.

Not requiring textbooks to include homosexuals' and transgenders' contributions to California history amounts to "enforced invisibility," said Sen. Sheila Kuehl, the Democrat lesbian who introduced the bill.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the bill has attracted national attention because California accounts for about 12 percent of the nation's textbook market.

SB 1437 reads in part, "No textbook or other instructional materials shall be adopted by the state board or by any governing board for use in the public schools that contains any matter reflecting adversely upon persons because of their race or ethnicity, gender, disability, nationality, sexual orientation, or religion."

The bill also requires all social studies textbooks to "study the role and contributions of...people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender...with particular emphasis on portraying the role of these groups in contemporary society."

The conservative Campaign for Children and Families testified against the "transsexual-bisexual-homosexual curriculum bill," calling it "sexual indoctrination."

CCF President Randy Thomasson is urging Americans to "loudly protest at every opportunity," and he is urging Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to announce that such bills will be vetoed when they reach his desk.

"Use today's bad news to spur you to righteousness," Thomasson said in a press release.

According to Thomasson, the bill authorizes the California Department of Education to sue any school district that does not promote or positively portray transsexuality, bisexuality, and homosexuality in textbooks, instructional materials, and school-sponsored activities.

"SB 1437 turns every school into a sexual indoctrination center," he said. "This bill isn't about 'safety' or 'discrimination,' it's about leading children into sexual confusion."

Thomasson has accused Democrats of "mentally molesting" impressionable children.

"Parents send their children to school for academics, not for transsexual, bisexual, or homosexual indoctrination. SB 1437 means schools will promote same-sex 'marriages' and even sex-change operations to kids.

"The voters won't stand for this," Thomasson said.

I guess that we are very lucky that Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are not gay, because then it would really go completely crazy. At least now it is only very crazy.
People's personal lives should be exactly that and it should not become a tool in some fanatic's crusade.

Some things that I can't believe are happening, are happening. No wonder our society is so messed up.
If John Doe, a confirmed homomsexual invented something of merit, maybe and I mean maybe it would be OK to mention that he was a homosexual. But why? Should he be known for his invention or his sexual orientation? I'm really confused now.

How did we go from what someone does in the privacy of their bedroom to teaching this garbage in the classroom?

Just another example of the law of unintended consequences.

Sheila was an actor, and is a lawyer  Arnold, can veto this if he chooses, but he'll have to duck the "liberal mental molesting".

Im really sick of all the edited complaining about everything. Yeah, we know you are gay, we acknowledge that, now get on with your life. You are no more special than the next guy, and dont expect to be treated that way either. Yeah, Im intolerant of homo's, is there a problem with that?

Unbelievable! What a waste of time....A person's sexual orientation should have no bearing in academic studies....
I could not care less who is/isn't a flamer....JK

The way I heard it he defamed several good mams....

Back to topic though- what in the world does ones sexuality have to do with their accomplishments?

I'll admit that I think the gay stuff is gross, but I also think penny loafers are pretty lame too. So what? I guess now we'll need to have a section of social studies devoted to who wore what?

There you are a little bit wrong.
Anything that is enough out of mainstream, will cause a lot of tension and conflict within a person and more often than not, it will cause a person to go to the extremes of their capabilities in order to reach a station in life where their capabilities protect them from the outside world.
It is just another way of the old saying that conflict is progress.
That is why members of minorities within a given society are often found in high places(doctors, lawyers and such).

I don't buy that. If it were true, than the corollary would have to be true as well- those in th majority would be so comfortable that they would never attain positions of prestige and influence.

Re: CALIFORNIA'S 'GAY HISTORY' BILL ADVANCES

My guess is that most gay people would just as soon be left alone and in peace. It's too bad they seem to find their lifestyle pretty much under constant attack, with an organized polital movement designed to keep them outside the mainstream of society.

If I were under the constant barrage that they seem to find themselves in, I think I'd try to find some way to fight back as well.
