Re: Couldn't have said it better

I appreciate your sentiments Nathan. The tax issue is simple. We far right conservative nuts dont want the strength of our country, the people who work and pay taxes, to be incrementally degraded by taking their work product and giving it to people that dont work but could. You create a dependent underclass that way. If you pay a mother to have children only if they are single, you soon have a bunch of unwed mothers living on the dole. Build it and they will come.

Ply,

I frequently (not always as I’m getting bored with your posts in this thread) find your diatribe quite entertaining. As you appear to be old enough to read, I find it highly unlikely that you actually believe what you profess. It is probable that you are either very confused or incapable of feeding, cleaning or wiping himself.

As per your myriad comments on a distain for labels, you sure do use a lot of them. From this thread alone:

“..welfare mom…”
“Or some black…”
“right wing simplistic ignorant rage”
“…. you conservative types.”
“…the wealthy people…”

More entertainment:

“I am not going to debate labels and ideologies with you.”

Of course not! I’d be fighting an unarmed man

How can an issue be discussed, if a DEFINITION is not agreed upon?
Or is that just another of your diversionary tactics. State premises on a subject while not having a clear definition of the subject (re. rich /wealthy etc).

By the way, wasn't the subject of this thread an alleged Andy Roony artical?
Q.E.D.

Give it up boy. Seems that you’ve been unmasked for the fraud that you pretend to be. Else, are you suffering from a chemical imbalance? (Rhetorical as I’m oudda here)

Re: Couldn't have said it better

Sounds like someone's getting their panties in a wad. A quick review of this string reveals Ply has stayed on topic and engaged, sincerely, with all who've joined the debate. Nothing in his posts suggests he's a fraud, whiney, or using diversionary tactics. He does not generate "flameworthy issues" nor post anything that resembles SPAM. If anything is flameworthy, it's Flathead's original post of the fabricated Rooney statement. I guess ebb, SCO, and Klondike7 are just frustrated that they can't get Ply to submit to their point of view. If you guys want Ply to understand your points of view, calling him names isn't going to help. Although, if you've noticed, he hasn't lost his  over it.

Re: Couldn't have said it better

Blacksmoke, please recheck my posts on this thread. This is my 2nd post and I am not the slightest bit agitated or frustrated. I've been ripping Plys arguments to shreads for months now. It's a piece of cake. Glad you've joined the fray. :D

Well guys i just skimmed this thread. All I can say is Andy Rooney did say what was quoted. As a matter of recollection I am 98% certain he said all of it exactly as printed. I was amazed at his comments. No comment on the flaming going on in here. I'm to new to draw a judgment. :D

SCO, you've been ripping my arguments to shreads? When did that happen?
And why is it that you always bring up welfare recipients as the root of all evil? Just what portion of the Federal budget goes to welfare?
We could eliminate the entire welfare budget (after welfare reform was implemented) and not put any sort of dent in anything.

OTOH, as a single example, Enron's manipulation of the west coast energy market, and the administrations appointment of Kenny Boy's buddy at FERC that told California and the rest of the west coast to fend for themselves--cost California and the rest of the west coast billions and billions of dollars- dollars we are still spending to this date because of artificially inflated energy contracts negotiated at the point of a gun--
That cost this county far more than welfare ever thought of costing us.

Your arguments lose credibility when they focus on vague emotional issues that cannot be backed up by data, and ignore much more serious issues that can be backed up by data.

Re: Couldn't have said it better

I think I touched a nerve. Now that's frustration Blacksmoke.
I don't have hours, and I am not defending Enron in any way, but, California is in an energy jam because they dont want any pollution from energy production in their state. They want energy though, and want the pollution to go to the other states, like Texas. Serves them right. Also , I don't base my arguments on emotion.

I'm thinking of a new thread, point counterpoint. You can be Shena Alexander Plywoody, and I'll be Jack Kirkpatrick . (Cut me some slack If I recal their names incorrectly)

ot15, You're 98% wrong. Check the link above.

SCO, I agree as you said, earlier, that welfare shouldn't go to those able to carry their own weight (and, by the way, the Clinton administration began addressing that). But, there are a lot of people out there who aren't able due to mental illness, abuse, etc. Our taxes must help them, not only for their own good, but for society's. This administration would rather focus on corporate welfare - now there's a place you ought to be upset your taxes are going.

Blacksmokes stated

. I can sum that post up in one sentence. "I'm an ignorant, close minded racist, and if you don't agree with me, I'll kick your a$$." How embarassing.

And then he says

If you guys want Ply to understand your points of view, calling him names isn't going to help. :D

Good one OB :D

Re: Couldn't have said it better

I must say PW that you are the first proud draft dodger I have met since my return from In-Country. I am very curious though how you became a legal DD. You must be very proud of that medal. Was it medical, religious views or did you just you do the tuck and tailem thing and go across the border until you were pardoned. When you filled out your resume did you proudly reflect it on your qualifications? How about on Veterns Day, do you proudly display a plague in your yard that shows your status. When you see a vet do you display to him how proud you are on your stance.

I doubt that you did neither or you wouldn't be posting today. You know their are many Nam Vets here thats why you posted as you did.

That was a pretty low blow even for you PW. I apoligize to the other vets who are reading this because I know whats going to come forth next from him but something had to be said.....Hope to be able to share my personal views at the get together PW.......

Almost touche Flathead! But, just to clarify, I was referring to the "Rooney" persona, not to anyone on this forum.

Im not afraid to say it,

You start messing with me, my family, my property, or my money and I will KICK YOUR A$$!

I dont have to tolerate anyone, That is my right. Im not saying that anyone doesnt have a right to live, or whatever, that is just as long as they dont infringe on my rights.

I dont care if your gay, ***** or what ever you want to call yourself. I do not have to tolerate it, and I will not expose my children to it, no matter how trendy you think it is, it is still wrong. That is my right.

I will always speak out about high taxes, no matter what amount I actually pay on dont pay. That is my right.

I think that anyone that is on welfare and is able to work and doesnt, is a worthless piece of crap and should have their knees busted, so that they have a reason to collect it.

I dont think that anyone has any right to take anyone elses property, if you try to take any of mine, I will shoot you dead.

I dont believe in racial profiling, because there is not such thing. Why would you look for a black guy, when it was an Arab that robbed the store? It is called good police work.

I dont think that all crimes against minorities should be classified as hate crimes, sometime they get the crap kicked out of them because they are idiots. Why is it when a minority kills or hurts a white guy, it is just a crime? But vice versa, it is a hate crime?

In short all Im saying is DONT F*** With Me!

Re: Couldn't have said it better

that is an honest opinion - kudos to that. but since we have certain people here who are offended by such brash remarks, i'm afraid you must now be closed'mouthed about speaking your opinion... just a warning

it would be nice to vent for the sake of venting- which everyone does at one time or another. but for some reason it is taken as a point of debate here. i wish you could simply place your post here without fear of debate, but that seems to be a mute point these days. why fear debate? because many post here for entertainment or relaxation - they used to be called 'chat rooms'.

nowadays, we are open to those who wish to 'properly educate' others through means of sarcasm and putdowns, into absorbing their way of life. not by positive criticism, not by tactful statements, but by rough, callous, and purposefully degrading remarks. its a shame. and they often feel any forum is open to a callous flaming contest.

good luck - remember to avoid those who can't accept what your opinion is, with silence or an 'anti-subject' topic of their own... ;)

Re: Couldn't have said it better

Nathan, what didnt you get...the point countrpoint thing?

That you acknowledge a point I made about welfare Blacksmoke puts you in a whole different catagory from Plywoody . Makes me want to consider your points about corpoate welfare. I'm not too sharp on the subject, but would say maybe the pres puts emphasis on what you are terming as corporate welfare because you need to keep the revenue generating engine in good shape. There's no good reason in keeping the revenue depleting engine in good shape.

When ever people argue politics or religion there are no winners or losers, only bad feelings. To think that your view is the only one that is right and every one else is wrong is beening a hypocrite. To attack some one for beening or thinking diffrently is the biggest problem in the world to day. i wonder how many of you are thinking "I wont help or talk to that guy after what he said"

Shame on you all
