Funny how fast the garage can organizationally get out of hand. And how good it feels to get it under control again. 😊

I grinded 2 hours more. I was a bit slower than last time. I only got like 2-3 feet further. I think it will take 6-8 hours to be ready with the transom and 2-3 hours to get the lip out from the cabin. Im going to be ready with the grinding in 3 weeks.

Here are two pics from the phone's screen. Before the grinding and after 2 hours of grinding. The phone was 6 feet away from the boat. Not bad at all. That amount of dust will come anyway when the vac is on in the garage!

Wouldnt mind a bit of heat today to knock the nip down. Once the grinding gets done its down hill from there.

Problem solved. Found new LED light. Now the tent is more tolerable to work in. Tomorrow the grinding continues like never before lol.

The wood cutting and fiberglassing means your going together. If you are building it back stock it really moves on. Custom stuff will take a bit of planning so it slows progress down. Either way the construction stage really beat the teardown to me. Funny in a house teardown is always the fastest and normally the most fun.

Thanks for your replies, they motivate me.

Today I grinded 1,5hours and my progress was a lot better than previously. This time I had less clothes under the chem suit and my new LED light was worth of every penny. About 50% grinded.

Btw Sea Ray bedded the stringers only from the other side. There were lay ups only on the side of the center line and absolutely nothing on the otherside. Stringers were bedded on some kind of PU glue, however the glue was there only on 60-70% of the whole length.

The bedding was just to hold them there untill they got the floor in. Small boats rarely see the hard spots in the hull if the stringers are not touching 100%. Most of the spots I have seen where someone thinks that is the issue is where someone knocked the crud out of it.

Allright, sounds fair!

Today I bought some fir/pine plywood 1/2" and 3/4". I need to make some tests with it. It was challenging to find these sheets... Lets see how they curve when they dry out.

Ive seen many project boats that get extra bulkheads, stringers and some kind of side flaps. I kind of understand what people are after but I still dont know is it better to stiffen the hull up more than it was from factory. Isnt flexibility = durability also on the boats? Which brings me to two options. 1. Rebuild the hull as it was (but with care) or 2. add some structual stiffness at the expense of flexibility.

unless you have a engineering background in boats and know the results of your decisions I would rebuild stringers the way they were but better, if I am not mistaken they do a ton of testing on boats to make sure they act the way they are supposed to .
