Make sure and do some "Dry Runs" with the transom and the clamps to "KNOW" how everythings gunna fit and work. Once the PB's all mixed and "Cookin" you only have a limited amount of time and as we all know "Time FLYS when we're Havin Fun!!!!!"

You need to make sure the resin, MEKP, fiberglass & boat surface are ALL 65F, not just ambient air temp above 60F. Working in the shade in a garage, w/ a thermometer reading 65, but the garage door open and a breeze outside, or if the overnight temp was below 60F, the boat may be below 60 & difficult to keep above 65F.

Some halogen lamps aimed at the transom skin to warm it a little more until you're ready to glass, turn them off after you get it all set up. then once you're done glassing, turn them back on to warm it back up a bit.

I'd say you're all set. Let the installation begin!!! Mix up 2 qts of PB and pre measure the MEKP for each Pour in the MEKP for the first one and mix well and apply and have the other in the boat with you ready to go. Mix it when needed and then be prepared to clamp. You MIGHT need a 3rd quart or partial one so be prepared for that as well. You only have 15 to 25 mins and it WILL go quickly.

I'm pretty sure you'll need all of 2 qts so mix it all up @ one time

Well my first go at it did not go well The flat section seems good but going over the edge not so good. It kept like hairing up for lack of better way of saying it Hopefully I can sand off the bad and try again tomorrow

Use less resin on the edges!;) DAB at em with a the brush gently and don't over work em. Once the fibers lay down move on. You can come back later when it starts to tack up and work it a bit more with a bubble roller if you have one or some plastic and your hands.

Cut some 3" strips and just redo the edges. Sand em smooth and Lay down the strips. You'll get the hang of it. Don't sweat it. It takes a while to get the hang of it. The flats look GOOD!!!

As I stated before I cut my transom up over the garboard drain and was planning on filling with pb and re drilling through the pb. Do I need to put a pvc tube in first or just the pb

Redid the edge came out better still a couple air bubbles learned to not go in different directions when spreading resin over glass

Personally I'd use PVC. Your Glassing is getting better. You're learning by doing!!!!:D Best Way!!! Wrapping edges is one of the hardest parts to get good at. Bottom edges not as critical if you're bedding in PB. Get as much resin down on the substrate as you can and then dab on the CSM to drive the resin up into the mat from the bottom up to wet it out first. Then add a bit, not much, more resin on top as needed. Most people use WAY to much resin. To more you use, to more you'll learn how much is needed Remember, One gallon of resin should be able to wet out and entire 4x8 sheet of plywood covered with 1.5oz CSM.

Ok I think I am doing something wrong . It seems like it taking to long for the resin to set up ahnd I cannot get rid of small air bubbles. Garage and material temp is 63 plus degrees no breeze doors shut I am mixing 2% 200ml resin 4 ml mepk now I did not stir up resin in 5 gal pail is that a prob? How long should I stir in mepk?
