Re: Deck coating / Turned complete restore

All the boys are workin' so I'll chime in. I use same % for pb as I do for my resin. I live in south florida where it is currently 90 hot degrees, so keep in mind to adjust according to your temps. I go a little lite (1%-10 drops to one ounce) especially if I know that I can roll her out in the hot sun....she gonna kick, no matter what. You be the judge. Also, I pre-mix my PB with resin, cabosil, & chopped fibers ahead of time because I don't have much work time due to high temps here. Just be sure you really mix well once you catalyze. I will often catalyze half way, mix, then put the other half in. Knock wood, never had a problem here. Good luck. Like your progress.

Very Nice clamp up! Only thing is...Not seeing much PB oozing out around the edges. Did you put a LOT on??? You should have enuf to be doing some filleting I'd think!! How many quarts did you use? Did you drill any additional holes to allow PB to ooze thru the transom?

Darn it I forgot the holes I used 4 qt of pb I thought i would have it oozing out also. I spread it on a good 1/4" on transom and skin probably heavier in most spots

I think I put enough I made sure the skin basically was tight to the wood. some squished out of the transom holes and across the top where the motor sits

Yes what did make its way out is hard as a rock I did not take clamps off will do that in the morning. I did notice there is some resin that came out in a few places bottom of hull and on the floor I would guess that's normal. I think I made it to hairy to quote frisco it was a little tough to spread. Kind of wanted to peel away instead of stick but I got it everywhere. Clamped it up around 2pm today can I remove clamps in the am

Great job on the transom. It looks great. Try not to overthink things too much. And trust me, listen to Wood. He will not steering you wrong. Great job so far...
