Re: Gay marriages

Ladyfish I have had my opinions on subjects changed from debate here on Iboats before. I would hope that people debating in honorable way may do so to others as well. Debate is healthy....flaming is not.....What debate may accomplish may seem trival here and now but you never know down the line tudes change and hopfuly people learn.

I've learned enough already.
We're not all tuned to the same radio staion, therefore, and thank God (I will) we are individuals and not clones of one another.
What a boring world it would be if everyone was the same.

Re: Gay marriages

Quick thoughts:

I am at i-boats cuz I am a boater.
I go to church cuz I am a christian.
I go to the gym cuz I enjoy basketball.
I help people I don't know cuz I am sympathetic.
I enjoy cooking.
I take care of my dog cuz she is my best friend.
I play chess.
I work very hard.
I love going to sporting events.
etc............................

I am also a heterosexual. Who someone is, is the some of so many factors, sexuality is just a small piece of what makes a person.

But, if you present yourself as a sexual object only as many homosexuals do, they make themselves and all others of like persuasion a target. I don't judge people on their persuasion unless that is all they present. I cannot pretend to understand their persuasion, and I will go to the stats that say it is a dangerous lifestyle, but it is their life.

I know I can never understand or appreciate what they do, but as long as they keep their lifestyle from forcing me to embrace it or affording special rights or protections above the rest of the population, I will stay out of their way. I do get sick of hearing that we should stay out of peoples bedrooms but then they put it in my face what they do, I find myself repulsed. I would find someone more representative of their core values than RuPaul, Barney Framk and the Fab 5.

Peace...

Re: Gay marriages

MikeandRhonda, don't get me wrong, I love a good debate. Debates can be extremely educational.

However, this subject is complex like abortion, etc. because religious morals are involved. Nobody wins, everybody loses.

DIE THREAD DIE.

Re: Gay marriages

Hey Mods,

This thread is getting worst than the "gay bishops" thread.

It is not only my opinion, but others to, that this thread should be locked-up.

Re: Gay marriages

awesome postpointer94. You hit it on the head when you say some people make the sexuality out to be what they are seen as, there in lies the problem. If yer gay how come everybody has to know it when they see you? Im a hetrosexual and I dont scream it out on street corners or ask to be treated differently. If a gay punches me in the face is it a hate crime? no, I may have deserved it. This America where everybody is supposed to be equal. Not the few get specail treatment. Why a gay pride parade. what do the gays think it will do for them. Why stand down there with reliious sign about burnin in He11 if they dont change? How many people do you think went oh wow I better not be gay anymore? how about keep you sexuality in yer bedroom no matter what side yer on. As for attacking people for their beliefs or sexuality or color or whatever, if you do your polly not to far removed from attack yer self and when it happens there should be no sympathy for you.

Re: Gay marriages

There seems to be a movement to kill this thread.

It hasn't been fun, but I think it has accomplished more than the usual passionate sociopolitical thread. A few might have learned something. Chad has learned that he is okay with us, for example.

It has been a lot of work for all the Mods.

We are going to lock it until we have discussed it with iboats management. Then it will continue or disappear.
