Update:

I should have "Whisky Ding" (good name, I think) fully sea worthy tomorrow. Total investment so far is under 1K, parts, batteries, title, labor, everything, total investment to make this thing look and function great will be under 2k easily. Polishing is going well, the 10% of the boat that has been polished is looking pretty good (not great, but good). Lots and lots of polishing along with some new pin-striping will go a looooong way in bringing this thing back to its former glory.

I think I got the electrical issue figured out... by the looks of it the battery charger that was in place was taken out and the negative lead cut. I got a new charger and as soon as my EE shows up I'm sure we can get all the accessories working again. The head is disgusting, someone decided to use it without being able to flush it, so I got that S to deal with (literally). Lots to do, not enough hours in the day, but by next summer I should have a great looking boat tearing up the water garnering envy from the masses who's down payment was more than my total investment Damn this is fun!

so far I have purchased 3 boats with heads and got one for free..... 2 of the 4 had the same crappy deal in the head.... some folks are NASTY.... I HIGHLY doubt that the "damage" was done by the boat owner.... more likely a trespasser.... .... maybe you could name her "one in every pot"..... LOL.... enough on that 'chit'

Great news on the title! Texas parks and wildlife approved the transaction, my marina guy was squared away on all of the paperwork including, but not limited to, sealed letters and POD (6) to the previous owner, past due bills, auction listings in the paper, and so on. Process took about 45 minutes, all I was responsible for was one signiture transferring the title from the marina to me and $50.50. The marina owner is a great guy and he's even allowing me to keep the boat out there for a couple of months rent free so I can figure out what to do with it. Now I got to start praying that the engine block and lower unit are good!

so uh.....your telling me you spent 250.50 on this boat's ownership?

theft is illegal in many places.....

ok.....when you get it out of the water and want to start working on it. post a thread in the restoration section....(i dont care if all you want to do is clean it up and make the gellcoat shiney.....we can help you in the dry dock)

I would start a thread in the dry dock, but I dont really think I need to since its already up and running. Basically all it took was a new fuel pump, fresh gas, oil, grease, and a few other things here and there. All I'm going to be doing at this point is making it look good, and maybe add a few toys.

did you get the shore power figured out?

at the main electrical cabinet in the galley area.....there is a switch. this will take you from 12v (battery) to shore power. it is usually a large switch at the top of the panel.
