Like all of us, I had projects I wanted to get done before springtime. Just wondering how far we all got with our lists, as time is getting near.

My list included;

A) Install remote spotlight - Done
B) Build a sundeck for the Admiral (Not done, but I have everything I need)
C) Install a digital fuel guage - Change of plans; installed a Floscan Fuel Monitor
D) Install 2nd Bilge pump - Done except 3way switch
E) Change the over-pitched prop - Done, wow what a difference the correct prop makes
F) Add battery switch and relocate second battery - Not done, can't afford the cable to move the battery
G) Chane all-around light - Done
H) Replace cheap plastic antenna mount with Stainless - Done
I) Fix leaking power steering line - Done, what a nightmare (for the mechanic that spent 6 hours on it)
J) Empty and completely clean out cabin - Done
K) Install downrigger - Change of plans - Going to use planers off the cleat
L) Fix soft flooring; one panel that is over the fuel tank - not done, should be by the end of the month tho

So that's pretty much my list. Except for the battery and floor, I'm comfortable with what I've gotten done so far. How about you and your list?

I kinda have a lot that i want but i know that some might not get done before i go on the boat.
fix small hole
foam an deck put in
seats installed
gas tank faseners
install radio
buy new seats
tune up engine
cmc tilt bracket.
i will probably get most of this done enough for it to go in the water and then do little by little.

I need to get gas and fill my lower and I am good, there is a wire for one of my lights that I would like to make a little longer but other than that I am ready to go.

Unless the weather goes bad I am going fishing next Saturday, sippose to be in the 60s Thursday so hopefully am alright, I have a camper top and heater so it eeds to be pretty cold to keep me home.

Manifolds
Risers
Rewire and install new gauges
Change the oil and filter
Change the lower unit oil and impeller

HOPEFULLY, that is all. But we know how that goes, right?

Rebuild/reseal both drives - torn apart in the basement, have parts
Tune props - bent one tearing apart drives - @#*%
Install new VHF - Have radio, need antenna, mount, etc.
Get port injectors cleaned/rebuilt - not done
Replace bad lifter in port engine - not done
Rebuild dash and flush mount GPS - not done
Install NMEA trim tab indicators - probably won't happen this season - $$
Wash and waterproof mooring cover - not done but at home and have 303

:)Well on a list or scale of 1 to 10 - 1 being the starting point, I believe at " 1 ", but that's ok- cause i'm really enjoying this 74 Lund since I'm 63 yrs old and this is my first boat- lot of car restorations- but never a boat.

Let's see....

Rebuild spare carb and install....still havn't ordered the parts.

Fiberglass repair at bow and small hole in rib....waiting on warm weather to stabilize.

New tires/wheels for trailer....procrastinate awhile longer

Been working alot of OT, not much time to do anything, much less what I want to.

But hey, got a new ignition key cut that actually works, that should count for something, right? And I turned in vacation time yesterday, gonna take a week the end of April, before my rugrat gets out of school for the summer :D

The Starcraft just needs to be de-winterized and put in her slip.

The SeaRay just needs to have something put in the engine compartment and she'll be ready for the lake. ;)

The Evinrude needs to be completed, only painting and trim system rebuild to go.
The Trophy boat still needs the following;
Dissassemble, clean, paint, and reassemble windshield
Reinstall hand rail
Create kicker motor bracket and install
Change impeller in kicker (10hp Honda)
Install hour meter
Install Temp guage
Change out fuel filter/separator and gas boat
Reinforce gimbal mounts for downriggers

And finally go thru all fishing lines a respool
Retie inline spinners for new season

Lots I'd like to do but until that foot of snow disappears it's not happening. Temps are just above freezing now. Come on spring!

2) Finish sunpad (2/3s done)
3) Exhaust flapper and new rubber connectors.
4) Install new distirbutor
5) Wet sand and buff (1/3 done).
6) Finish helm chair
7) Get props (19p 4 blade and 21p 3 blade) repaired
8) Finish swim platform (1/3 done)

And then remind myself to go have fun!

Re: How far are you on your 'before launch projects'?

I have lots to do. Bought my boat Last October, only had 3 weeks to work on it before storage.

It is mid-March and we are still snow covered. I have 6 weeks to get this baby ready because I paid for expensive rack storage starting May 1st. I need cleaning, lots of buffing, repaint, stereo, swim platform, dual battery setup, prop change, window tinting, etc. Good news, engine and outdrive are perfect!

I did get the trailer done last fall. before/after

Re: How far are you on your 'before launch projects'?

I've got a 86 21'6" Bayliner Trophy that came with a 131AQ volvo/penta 270 that I started to switch to a 5.7 mercruiser in January I am dropping in the new 5.7 next week and can't wait to try it out.... Just have to wait for the ice to melt. This is my first i/o I had lots of outboards tho.
I know that the volvo is suppossed to be bullit proof but the lack of power trim was just not acceptable
Any comments?
