Re: How many more?

Ray said;

All I have to say is, if yer gonna fight a war, WIN The war, stop f ing around

unleash the BIG guns, blow em off the face of the earth, and let God sort em out

they, like japan, germany and every other piissant country in the world that has ever taken on the US, has paid the price
That's my point.
Quit fiddle farting around and get the job done already.
All we hear, and I know it's from the media, is how many of our troops got killed or injured today.

How about, the US is kicking some azz and taking names for once.
I for one have nothing for terrorists and their people and a lot on this board knows why, so why screw around?
Sure a lot of innocent people will die, but look at Japan.
How many died there and they made it big time.

Re: How many more?

So what is an outcome to this that will make this "worth the effort" as JB suggested?

I don't agree with those that suggest we should just get out at this point in time. we created this mess, and now we have to deal with it.

But we do need to figure out what is a successful outcome, and is that outcome possible, and is what we are doing getting us closer to that outcome.

I beleive, on our current course, we are attempting to get to an impossible result, with methods that simply will not get us any closer to any sort of an acceptable result.

Get rid of all the DoD advisors, get the state department involved, get other nations involved, which includes giving up absolute control of this thing, and get to some point where we can get out.

Re: How many more?

JB,
I could not agree with you more. Thanks for you input. I believe we are doing the right thing, and I fully understand it is going to take a long time and cost American lives. Plywoody, just because the President of the United States has not consulted you and informed you with all the intellegence does not mean we are in a "mess" (according to you definition). What we have accoumplished in this short time is amazing, not finished yet, but amazing. And Plywoody, here is were you and I disagree....You are always saying the "We" got into this mess. This is an insinuation that we are getting what we deserve with every American killed. It may be hard for you to understand that things like this take huge sacrifice with lives, money and inconvienance from every American. Don't worry Plywoody and the others who don't think this is worth our time, When all is done and the world and the US is a safer place, we will let you live in it too. It's amazing to me.....How soon does everyone forget, we are in a war with terror and this is part of that war. Yes, there are other countries to confront, and we will get their, too. I am glad we have the courage to do what we are doing instead of hiding in our little country praying that we don't get hit again.

Re: How many more?

I feel they pulled the troops out to soon. They should have lined the border and shot anyone coming or going. They should not have allowed the enemy to throw down weapons and walk off. They should have been shot right there. They just walked off to another weapons cache.

They should be doing sweeps of every corner for sadam and others. They should be sifting the sand looking for where weapons are buried. That place should be crawling with so many US soldiers, that someone can't even think of shooting a soldier with out getting gutted.

I feel that here on the home front we should remove all types of visas for middle easterners. We can setup distant learning centers for the honest. We should institute a national Al Queda hunting week during the week of Sept 11th, every year. No bag limit.

All citizens should be required to certify in some sort of self defense. This self defense would be geared to the person's physical capabilities of course. Every citizen should be before the courts at least once a year for beating the hell out of a middle easterner. You would only be alloted one freebee per year.

They want a fight, put me in office and we will see them crying for mercy. These clowns want to die. Why else would they be exploding themselves in public places? They are making public statements that they would rather be dead. So, give them what they want!

Re: How many more?

This may derail the topic a bit, but I think it is germane to the debate.

Do veterans have a stronger right to voice their opinions on matters such as this? Several have reinforced their contributions by presenting their credentials.

I certainly feel that I have paid a price in protecting freedom and our ideals in various parts of the world. I am proud that I went in harm's way on behalf of freedom and have no doubt that it was the right thing to do.

I do not, however, think that gives me a louder voice than any other U.S. Citizen. All of us know people who died in those efforts, many of us have lost loved ones or ancestors. What of their voices?

Is the freedom of the vast majority of Iraq's people any less precious than that of the French, British, Philippine or Korean peoples? I don't think so. I think that protecting or restoring freedom in those places protected and preserved our freedom. I think that completing the freedom of Iraq does the same.

Re: How many more?

Leave before the job is done?, shame on you. Its a slap in the face to every soldier that has died or served in this current war to even say that. So, some think its ok to have U.S. soldiers die in vain? Again, shame on you. The U.S. has never run when the going got tough, and we d@mn well better not this time. I dont think anyone wants to see any of our troops perish, but we must finish what was started. (Remember, we didn't start it, the terrorists did).

I agree, we need to flatten a few of these countries, but because of the backlash of the liberal azzholes in this country, and in countries like France and Germany, it is next to impossible to do that. So, we must support what this administration is trying to do. And for those of you that want to blame Bush for everything, get your head outta the sand, there are many people that make these decisions, not one person. We live in a Democracy, not a dictatorship.

Personally, I would love to see a few well place MX missles wipe some of these countries out, but that will never happen.

You know what I say, support this administration, or pack up your stuff and move somewhere else.

And one more thing, to all of the Veterans that frequent this site, let me say Thank You, and you have my absolute respect and admiration. None of us can put into words our sincere appreciation for what you have done for this country, and our freedom. May God bless you all!

And for all of our Brothers and Sisters that did not return from battle, Thank You, and I know God is taking care of you now.

None will die in Vain!

Amen.

It will take as many, as necessary to complete the job!!

Bringing our men and women home from Iraq is fine and dandy with me.

But when the U.S. Capitol is leveled, or the Empire State Building is destroyed, or your neighborhood is chemically attacked, you would only have yourselves to blame, not the President, YOU , the passifests of the world !

Bringing the troops home before the job is done, is just plain stupidity!

Re: How many more?

We were so worried about world public opinion that we have made ourselves as fighters ineffective. We will continue to lose soldiers and civilians as long as we continue to fight a PC war.

When you fight a WAR against an enemy, you do not attempt to separate everyone into different categories--good, evil, etc. That is insanity. They are ALL the enemy. You attack until your enemy surrenders; you don't just take some big cities and then declare victory, the job is just begun. You don't worry about civilian casualties. You don't worry about collateral damage. You don't worry about reestablishing electricity or water. And you don't hand out goddamn candy bars to the children of your enemy--I don't care how friendly they are.

War is an ugly but necessary part of life if we are to enjoy freedom. And you cannot win a war by being weak, compassionate or liberal minded.

Causalities whether theirs or ours, reminds us that freedom is not free.

Re: How many more?

Couldn't agree more Ladyfish, but why are we unable to go into Iraq, and pound our enemy until they surrender? I'll tell you why, because of all the liberal backlash the Bush adminstration would receive from within the U.S, from France, from Germany, from Russia, ect.

I believe if Bush had his way, he would destroy this enemy completely.

The same groups of people that criticize the Bush administration for what is happening to our troops over there now, are the same people that would rather the U.S. not have got involved with Iraq in the first place. Sitting around doing nothing will get you killed, that was proven on 9/11.

The liberal jerks need to keep their mouths shut, and let the Bush administration have full control to finish the job the way it was meant to be finished.

The liberals of this country remind me a lot of my boss at work. He has no solutions to any problems, yet he will absolutely criticize any solutions to a problem that you bring to him.

And this is exactly my problem with this "so called" liberal dissent and their argument that they are not being anti-American. Their actions DO hurt our ability to wage war. Their actions DO put our soldiers lives in danger, by creating backlash from people and countries that only care about themselves and no more. So the next time you are screaming "bring our boys home", "no more war for oil", or believeing only what the leftist media is showing from Iraq and your resolve is demisnished, just remember the lives that will be lost because of this. Makes me sick to my stomach.

Agreed totaly, LadyFish. Only one problem with these great historical quotes. The number one rule to being an anti-war liberal is to totaly forget history and it's lessons learned. The love to re-invent (make up) history to fullfill thier own needs and political desires. Unforgiveable.
