Im jealous, you people have fish loving wifes! But come on theres always problems, dont be scared tell the truth!

1. I have a heckofa time keeping her out of Cabelas.
2. 2 biggest fish in the boat last year.....on her string.
3. So far, 2 biggest fish in the boat this year......you get the point.

My official job title is Debbie's bass boat driver.

Re: How to go fishing without making the wife mad!!!!!your going again?

Threads like this remind me of how lucky I am/was. LOML never whined about it. I taught her to fish and took her along. I chose places to fish so she could catch some, too.

Later, in my single life, I only invested time in women who wanted to go fishing.

I was the same way. If they didn't like to be in the boat, they were down the road. Good way to weed them out. My wife loves to go out in the boat. She may not fish, she just may read a book. I don't care. My daughter loves the boat AND fishing. Usually, if the wife doesn't feel like going she doesn't care if I do. Especially if I take the kid. Then I'm guaranteed to be on the lake...:)

Cabellas is running a contest in some states with a million dollar fish. You catch the fish tagged with the right number and it's worth a million bucks. Just tell her you're out searching for a fortune for her :D.

Re: How to go fishing without making the wife mad!!!!!your going again?

My gf is the one makeing the fishing plans for us. She loves to fish. But not to sure of my lake john boat yet, (loves my Mom & Dad's toon and not dad's bass boat), she cann't swim so she don't like small boats, but we're working on it and she is getting better at feeling save in small boats. So when we go fishing she may stay on shore. She also thanks I have to much fishing gear, but thanks she needs more of her own. So if I go shopping for more gear she likes to go and tell my I don't need that, but she needs this. I get in more trouble if I don't ask her to go or take her along. This past friday I got home from work and was informed that we were going fishing and she had already bought the bait.

My wife is pretty much the same as yours jjacobs007, but I realize it's my fault. I have issues fishing obsession. If I'm around another avid angler it's all we talk about. I eat my lunch in 10 minutes many days so I can spend the rest of my lunch hour fishing. If I go out on the boat I would likely fish from dawn until dusk if I didn't have responsibilities at home, and you better believe I am out a few hours longer than I told her I would be. I think she would be pretty cool about all of this if I wasn't leaving her at home with our 2 and 4 year old.

This year the 4 yo is getting big enough to where I can take him with me. He can't handle marathon fishing sessions where you could go an hour without a nibble yet but I'm grooming him to love fishing (If it's what he wants to do). If I am lucky enough to have my boys share in my passion for the sport it will solve most of my issues (or will it?).

In your case it sounds like a bit of a different story. I'm sure that after 25 years you don't have the small children issues that I have. Maybe it's just the mother hen in her trying to keep you where she can be involved at all times.

I remember the first time I took my daughter out. Not sure how old she was, but pretty young. We were out for 6 hours and never caught a fish. She never complained. She did use a lure named by her, "Sylvester". Everytime "Sylvester" was reeled back to the boat, she said, "I just caught Sylvester". Maybe she thought she was getting action all day! lol...

Ya scared of water her ex-husban tried to drowned her a couple of times.

But I guess I've been lucky when it comes to gfs & my ex-wife. My ex-wife liked to fish too. Not as much as my gf doe's. And my daughter loves to go fishing with me. And I'm working on the gf kids the like to go but don't fish the hole time teenagers. But the gf and I go fishing very chance we get.

What the heck do the women really have to do with you going fishing? I will always ask her if she would like to go. Sometimes it's yes, and sometimes it's no. The one I am really concerned about is me!!!!Yeah right! She knew when we met that fishing was my passion besides indoor sports, and that if weather permits, I am on the water. Don't you guys remember what the ole guy said to his wife when she said,"If you go fishing one more time, I'm gonna leave you"! His reply "God I'm gonna miss her"!...lol Don't get me wrong, I love my Girl, But Fishing will always be there, will she?!

yes thats true in our hearts, but we love coming home to our girls just as much.A day on the lake fishing is awesome but when its over its the women at home that really ring our bells! i dont know of any serious bass fisherman that have a higher percentage rate of wifes waiting for them at the hotel or marina.they probally have good porn videos though.

Me too, the first time my daughter had a plastic lure on the line the whole time, she was so mad it didnt catch anything!I was worried about the treble hooks and left the fake lure on to be safe as far as casting and such!It was amazing to watch her casting skills go from 0 to hero though.

I hear you brother!wife and kids at home but we still get the shakes if we cant go to to lake right? Is it the fishing or the cruising around in boat knowing that we hold our fate in hand, possibly seeing wildlife and maybe even a rescue that we can partake in. I repeat theres nothing like having your boat n the water at the lake,We always find something to better our selves in.

Simple answer to your issue,

Get her a boyfriend:D

thats funny!

Around here back in the 70's some of the beer companies would tag fish like this. Some you could get cash for, some you get beer for. They need to start doing that again!

Another funny one to add to this is one of my dad's friends Father was an avid fisher man and hunter. (and an old fart if you will) Anyway, he'd be outside getting ready to go fishing and his wife would be on the porch yelling at him "you aren't going fishing today!!! you have this to do and that to do...." His answer would be "I know, I know...." the whole time loading all of his fishing gear into the boat and pulling off. LMAO
