Well, Murphy's Law strikes again. I'm out guys...I have a trial that was suppose to go to the jury today, but the Def. atty has made a bunch of motions. The court has set Fri morning for these. Which means I'm working this weekend.

I really hate it when work gets in the way of LIFE...

Have a great time and post pictures when you get back.

Thanks for the cam QC. I haven't seen Havasu since the early 70's. What a change. Everybody have a good time.

 Great QC, I'm hoping to be on the island by no later than about 5pm. Leaving town about noon. The mead will be chilled upon my arrival! :D

What should I look for to find you guys? And a big thanks to BIL for grabbing a spot!

I'll be the one in the little blue bass boat and the beat up old straw hat.

AzMM,

You've got mail. We'll look for the hat and the mead :D

All,

I am guessing we will hang out on the Nautical Beach some Friday night/evening and/or the campsite. I will monitor FRS radio channel 6 Code 17, my cell and VHF Channel 9. The BIL's boat is dark brown/cream, 17 ft, low-profile ski type thing, there will also be a 25 ft. Chap (red trim), a 23 ft Chap (blue trim) with us. Coordinates for the Island are: N34 25.226 W114 17.469

I will email out my cell number if you send me a note at : quietcat22 at adelphia dot net

Nothing planned except the meet up as I have noted a couple of times. I hate a schedule on the water and I am sure we will have different agendas. We can discuss excursions and stuff when we meet up depending on the weather.

Re: iboats West get together!!!

QC, so you guys are going to be at Friendly Island after noon? I don't have a VHF but I have your lat and long so I'm sure I can find ya. Just look for the oldest (too small for lake Havasu during Spring Break) boat out there and that's me. I'm not 100% sure I'll even bring the boat still, we may just hang out in town and meet up with you guys at the Nautical. We'll see what the weather is calling for. If it's too chilly, it's no fun with the baby. :) Tried that, didn't work.

Roger DR. Noonish tomorrow (Friday) arriving, hope to be at Friendly Island by then. I will bounce between there and the Nautical and maybe a little cruising tomorrow, but probably staying close to either.

Edit: I'm outta here. Except for a minor bilge pump issue, I think I'm good to go. See whoever's there, there :D Yeah baby, yeah.

Re: iboats West get together!!!

Hello all, "watered down" referred me to this site. I am a member at the trailerboats.com forum. I will be going down to Havasu friday night and will be staying there until Sunday morning. This is my first time out to the lake, and am really inexperience with boating. I have a 89 Sunbird. In addition, I have no clue on how to launch this thing into the water. My wife and I are alway up to meeting new people. So, if anyone is willing to help me launch my boat, I would greatly appreciate it. I will be in Havasu probably around 10 pm Friday night. BTW, is there any good camp site you guys suggest, I have no clue on how to get to Friendly Island. I have my cell number in case anyone wants to meet up and is willing to help me launch my boat.

Thanks,
Quinn
760-333-6937

How do I get to friendly Island if I don't have a GPS system, and it's night time? lol, this campsite sounds like a really nice place.

FL;
Tried calling that number, it's on recording, says "not working"; called the refered to number; left message on the machine option "no. 1". Email or call me back-see my post above-I am already here at LHC; I'll be happy to help launch your boat; never been to this "friendly island", but QC posted the map already; besides LH is a relatively small lake; I am sure we'll find them.... :)

Re: iboats West get together!!!

I survived, but no boating yesterday; still had to work on the rental/vacation house in Lake Havasu City. But I got a change to meet and get to know QC-in person- and his sons, his neighbor and his sons, also John Ruff and his wife at the Nautilus Inn Dockside.

Luckily QC got his wallet handy, his grown up kids seems to have appetites for goodies-one after another seems like, but I like them, nice good mannered kids! :)

John has a well preserved 18 or 19ft pleasure boat, circa 80's I think and he seemed to be enjoying his new Electronic gadget hooked up to his laptop! I admire his tenacious upkeep and effort to remodeled the boat, it was so bad, the previous owner gave it to him for free...said John.

As for QC's boat, well you've seen his boat posted somewhere I think, it's in immaculate condition; he'd quickly wipe off any water or dirt on the seat; like a good proud owner should be. I am pretty sure QC and John Ruff would elaborate their boating week end for you guys when they come back home...

Yesterday was a perfect day for boating; the sun was up, temp in the 80's; lake Havasu seems ready for the Summer boating crowds.

Here's a couple of photos of how pretty it was yesterday at the lake (John said that they witnessed a great sunset at the lake-which usually are-; so he may post you with some pics later...).

Beach area in front of the Nautilus Inn:

QC, John Ruff and me, QC's shiny boat in the foreground, John's well preserved one was next to it:

Sorry ROSCOE for posting the photos...that's one of the reasons lots of Snowbirds came to Lake Havasu too; in fact, my tenant just left last Thursday, heading back to St. Cloud, Minnesota...
