Does standard automotive antifreeze work, or is there a marine flavor that should be used?

The sea water strainer is on the impeller side I assume?

If I understand this correctly, There are two cooling systems going on here. The first is closed loop which circulates thru the engine only. The second comes from the intake in the outdrive, in through the heat exchanger, (Not in contact with the actual closed loop coolant, just in the same exchanger), then exits via the exhaust. Is this correct, or am I just more confused?!?!

Maclin, any idea of an owners manual for this motor out on the internet somewhere, preferably in PDF format?!?!

Once you know the AQ series model number you can find them on the Volvo Penta website.

Any automotive antifreeze works fine, again a 50/50 mix
You are kinda correct in your view of how it operates...it's a water/water heat exchanger, whereas your car has a water/air heat exchanger (radiator)
The antifreeze solution and lake water pass though this heat exchanger and the heat is transfered from the antifreeze to the lake water.

All I need to know is the model number... the plate on the motor seems to be MIA, or I can't find it.

Forgot to post the final answer. I did find the build tag finally.

Motor is a AQ145A. Bigger then I originally thought.

Good deal, that looked like kind of a big boat for a 125!
