i always make sure i have enough oilAnd by the way, because I'm not aware of your boating knowledge, you did make sure you have oil in the reservoir? Because if your alarm is malfunctioning and no oil......
(No disrespect intended) Also, you can just check for spark you have to check for GOOD spark. That means a tester that measures how far the spark jumps. Again, if you didn't do anything reckless, and those tests check out....old dirty or water contaminated fuel or the vro needs help.
From what I understand octane is not an issue but stay away from ethanol.i always make sure i have enough oil
i test drive it with the quarter tank of the last owner when i bought ...and since then i just put brand new 91 octane gas in it
okay ..! awsome looks like. i know what im gonna do for the next few days xDYes, and add carbs (cleaning/rebuild) and vro pump.
actually i notice the squeezer on the line was not as full as when i prime it ..... and i have the feeling i was running longer time when my buddie was pumping it on the wAy back .......the line is in good shape i havnt check the filter yet.....When it starts to die, have you tried squeezing the fuel line ball? Have you checked fuel filters? Is the fuel hose bad?? I would start with the easier stuff first if it were me.
Also clean the pickup in the tank. The outside of your fuel line can look perfect, it is the inside that fails and cones apart. Also the valve in your squeeze ball can become clogged with small bits of fuel line when they come apart as can the plug going into your motor. Your issue sounds fuel related so go thru the fuel delivery system thoroughly!!! If it is old then I would just replace it all to prevent future issues. If I remember correctly the life expectancy of the fuel line is something like 5-6 years...actually i notice the squeezer on the line was not as full as when i prime it ..... and i have the feeling i was running longer time when my buddie was pumping it on the wAy back .......the line is in good shape i havnt check the filter yet.....

Do you have a built in tank or are you using portable tanks?is the primer bulb on the fuel line is supposed to stay full as when i prime it or its normal to get some air in it while using the boat
its a built in tank but i have access to itDo you have a built in tank or are you using portable tanks?
Get the compression numbers to make sure the engine is ok and then start the fuel check offs if the compression numbers are still good.its a built in tank but i have access to it
Might try a portable tank if you know someone who has one.its a built in tank but i have access to it
Your outboard is a 1992 by the way.yeah i was thinking about trying a portable tank
i will defenitly do compression test tonight i will give you the result
and here i attached picture of the gas tank setup and model number of the engine
No worries, just thought you might want to know. Model number J=Johnson, 70=hp, T=trim and tilt, L=Long shaft, EN=year.sorry about that
