Congrats! Looks like you had a nice site too. We have a 30'r and go as often as we can, its how we spell relief.

You know it's amazing the things you see when your camping. ;) :D

Re: Just bought a Travel Trailer.

Nice trailer... did you buy in Canada, or import it? I'm looking for an older (=cheaper) trailer to use for extra sleeping at the cottage, and for 2-3 trips per year. Also leaning towards a 26' BH style... I was thinking of smaller first, but think I'd like the size of a 26. I've been keeping an eye on craigslist in MN and ND... so far haven't taken the plunge... but did get in contact with a guy with a 26' BH Jayco with front bedroom that's in storage already... I may (?) just wait and deal on it in the early spring. It's only 2 hours away, but I'd have go through the import thing.

Nice that you got to use it a couple times this fall..

Bought it in Canada. We started looking smaller initially and then ended up getting something that was big enough to have at a seasonal lot but small enough to tow when we want to. It is at the bigger end of our towing capacity but the Trailblazer does a great job. Go for the queen size walk around bed if you can. It's great. I will post a pic of the interior shortly. We looked at importing but for what we paid for this one it would have been more hassle than it was worth to save a few hundred dollars.

Re: Just bought a Travel Trailer.

NICE! How was your first time cleaning out the poop tank?
My hose popped off on me the first time....YUCK! Blue poo went everywhere!

It was the cheapo hose kit the dealer through in...I have upgraded since then.
I always fill my waste tanks full of fresh water about 3 times before leaving the campground then open the valve to flush everything good.

Glad they cleaned the roof at the dealer. I use the Dicor roof products and my 2007 still beads the water but i have to treat it every 3 months....

Good looking rig! Glad you are getting some use out of it already.;)

So far so good with the poop tank. We have the better hose though so that makes things easier.

Re: Just bought a Travel Trailer.

VERY nice! The older one I found (but haven't bought yet) has a front bedroom with a wall separating it from the mid part, which has a pull out couch and fold down table and the 2 bunks and bathroom at the back... supposedly in VGC, everything works and with awning and equalizer hitch for $3900. Of course wouldn't be as snazzy as yours and wouldn't feel as roomy without the slideout and all... yours is very nice looking rig.

Here anything 1/2 decent is at least ~$7500, even if it's older b/c there is so much demand for them being used in seasonal sites. Yours would definitely be in 5 digits, but I haven't been watching the prices of the newer ones... It seems that in the states, you can find older ones for quite a bit less... issue is whether they're junky or not. Not sure how much hassle it would be to import... a friend did that a year or so ago and said it wasn't bad at all. But it's true, you don't really know until after you're done jumping through all the hoops.

Enjoy the rig, and thanks for posting the picts.

We got a King bed at home a couple of years ago and still had our 3" memory foam from our previous queen bed. Guess where it is now ???
We love it. Going to be a lot of time spent with it next season. Meanwhile Mrs Ken is trying to find an open campground for this weekend !!!! virtually all of them have closed for the season now and I head back to Japan and China next Tuesday for a couple of weeks. They are a nice bedroom set up though. Go to bed when ready without having to make it up each day.:)

Re: Just bought a Travel Trailer.

Ours is all hooked up in the driveway right now as well. Going to store it inside this winter as I want to make sure everything is sealed up tight and don't have time before my next business trip. Will do it in spring instead before the season starts. Good point about the relatives visiting and sleeping in there. We are expecting a crowd from England next year.

Re: Just bought a Travel Trailer.

It makes a great little guest house for the GF's parents...lol!
They loved staying in it last year when they came to visit.
I lucked out and have a sewer connection in the back yard just behind it too..
It makes it nice to be able to flush the tanks at home.

I think next weekend i better get some pink AF and fill the water system...

I would love to find inside storage for it.

Going to be doing the pink anti freeze thing ourselves shortly as well. Just have to make sure I do it right though as I am a RV winterising rookie !!! just like doing a small cottage though I think. Bounce or Downy sheets inside to keep the mice out ???

Re: Just bought a Travel Trailer.

Yep,The Bounce or Downy is a good idea.

Be sure to drain the hot water tank and turn the bypass valve. If not the tank will eat up all the AF before it pushes it through the lines.

Open all faucets until they run pink,Hot and Cold, fill the traps and pour some down the toilet.
I unhook the inlet hose on the pump and have a hose rigged up to suck the AF out of the gallon jugs.
I use about 4 gallons.

Wipe any AF out of the sinks and shower....it gets sticky...;)

Mine has a panel under the bed that removes for easy access to the pump.
Yours may be in a different location.

Re: Just bought a Travel Trailer.

one word of caution that I learned as an RV winterizing rookie. if you pour the pink stuff into your water tank and then let it pump out to your faucets with the water pump. when you are done make sure you drain the water holding tank. it doesn't need any AF in it and if you leave it your tank will remain pink forever.
i never used the water holding tank as I was always hooked up to water but i still hated seeing the pink line on the tank. LOL

Very true. I tried that method the first winter. After pouring 5 gallons of AF in the fresh tank and it still would not suck any up i went to the method i use now.Directly into the pump.

Re: Just bought a Travel Trailer.

mine did alright sucking it up as the "drain" for the fresh tank to the pump was slightl;y lower in the tank. the prob came from folks saying to leave a little in the tank.
