Re: Lost a fiberglass boat got another tinnie
Well I don't do great work. I don't write great stories. I'm not extremely outgoing, in fact I'm an introvert. The boat is really small. It's not in that bad of shape. So the only thing I bring to the table is I love my kid and spending time with him. If you want a good father son story this is it.
As I get into this more I realize this is a really, really great way to bond with your kids. Plus this little boat will look pretty spiffy too. I can't wait. I can't wait for his first five pound smallmouth, his first 45" muskie, his first Starchief, his first Islander....
The last coat of epoxy looked like crap. Tons of tiny bubbles, WTH. They sanded out and I got one coat of spar varnish on the seats. I think it'll still look good. Sanding seems to flatten almost everything out. If I had it do do over it would be: one coat of epoxy dry for a day then wet sand (220 grit). Repeat three times. Then varnish.
Honey do list smacked me good. I took tomorrow off work to do it. Maybe I'll sneak another coat of varnish on shhhhh. Is till need one more coat of epoxy on the outside of the transoms. Epoxy my Nemesis, I shall defeat you.
Remember everybody: If you don't own an aluminum Starcraft you should.
