Re: Lost a fiberglass boat got another tinnie
Epoxy will set up in the 50's. We all need a break sometimes. Varnish always gives me a headache tho.
Well then I have no excuse. We did need a break though. mom's working this afternoon so homework for today is fitting the transom and the transom piece that the motor bolts on to the outside back of the boat. Sure wish I knew the name of that piece, outer transom maybe. I dunno, there's two pieces outer long and inner trapezoidal shaped.
Hey Barato, he got bit pretty good. Asked for a band aid and howled too. No sympathy from Dad, I've worked in 5 foundries an a few machine shops. Been bit hard a few times. Thank the Lord I still have all ten FULL fingers.
I was really impressed with the little guy when he claimed the boat. He's doing as much work as a 7 year old can. He loves working with his hands. He'll be welding by 12. We're going to build a sand rail one day too. He looks over my work and he'll tell me "you did a good job Dad". I let him know when I struggle with something too.
Fatherhood is the hardest job I've ever had, hands down. Somedays I think I'm doing good, some days I suck, just feeling my way through it all. Thanks guys.
