Re: My 16 Foot Super Sport

So that puts you boys about about 13-14" up including the seat height? At 5'10" I am gong to need some sort of booster, without paying the $300 bucks for the built into the seat versions, to see well in certain situations. I guess I could kneel on the seat. I am sure there is a captain obvious answer for this newbie.

Springfield 9" work great

And there is the captain obvious answer. I seem to be having a cash flow problem. I work for it and earn it but my resident budget elf (wife) does not let it flow to me any more. In her defense I have $1600 bucks into the boat plus the $1500 purchase price. The bathroom going in downstairs of the house is sucking up copious amounts of cash too. Sigh - I may have to wait until summer for the pedestals or just build boxes and be done with it. How much does a kidney go for these days?

Otte, start using items of differing heights to get a feel for what you want, for example, I put a
seat on a 12" milk crate, too high, so I knew it had to be less.

Also, you can use a nice throwable as a cushion when underway, better for the back when wave bouncing

Experiment

BOXES AIN'T THE END OF THE WORLD. THEY OFFER OPPORTUNITY TO TURN DEAD SPACE INTO PRECIOUS oops storage....you may need it in a 16' hull.

It's okay sometimes I need someone to shout so I can hear another idea other than my own.

Otte - I"m kicking around boxes too. I currently have back to back lounge seats and except for under the transom (battery/tank already) not much storage. An opportunity is knocking.

I've seen some restos done on here before (wish I had an example on hand) with two of those folding seats mounted back to back on boxes. I always though it was a nifty idea.

Re: My 16 Foot Super Sport

Any one in MI interested in the possibility of these here pedestals. I keep racking my brain of a way to use them but I am coming up short. Even had the idea to mount them just in front of the splashwell and attach to a plywood sheet of one inch or thicker. The idea being an adjustable casting bench with an open bottom. I can't get my head totally around that idea as it would be a PITA to move that up and down with a single person and the potentially goofy look of it could be a turn off.

Any way got them for $44 each plus tax so if you are interested... give me a shout. If not they go back to Wally world.

I seem to remember seeing something like that in some big boat restos like Islanders or Chieftains where you can build refrigerator sized boxed. Of course I can't remember where.

Re: My 16 Foot Super Sport

No doubt Starman. Those are the bomb. It looks like we are using the same seats? Are those Wise folding seats? Those pedestals are at 9" plus the 4-4.5 the seats give me puts me at 13/13.5. Is that your height on your finished seats?

EDIT - Oops. That 9" is the base diameter. The sit at 12" plus the 4-4.5 puts me at 16" plus and that feels to high when I was messing with it last night at midnight.

Otte, these are the ones that should work, for the 2 main seats
at the consoles, they are compliant as far as rating

They are 20 bucks more than your wallyworlds

For 40 bucks. do it right

That is good to hear. I know you have yours double wrapped but do you remember what your total height was when you had seats plus pedestals together?

Re: My 16 Foot Super Sport

no, not sure Otte, but I recall making sure the height was perfect, and the boat is
under wraps for the season, but look at the picture, zoom in, and see how the seat relates
to the sidewall.
