Re: My first rant!

I almost always return the cart to the corral, but not ever time.

Sometimes when I go to WM with just me and the kids, by the time I get all 3 buckled in I just have to get out of there. I always park the cart where it will not roll, will not block the traffic lane, and will not take up a parking stall. A good place is on one of the islands where they planted trees and bushes for landscaping.
The WM I go to is on a slope too. They have at least 4 employees at all times that round up the carts, and they do a good job. The biggest problem I have is the cart corrals are spread out, one lane will have one near the store, the next lane will have one out at the end of the lot. If I don't park near on I will have to either walk about 1/2 block uphill to park the cart, or go around the line of parked cars also about 1/2 block or more to find a corral.
If I am alone this is no big deal and I do it, but I can't leave my kids in the car alone while I go exploring to find a corral.

Another rant to add to this, what about those people who will stop and wait til you finish loading your shopping bags and back out so they can take your parking space when you leave? Here they will back up traffic in the lot for 3 parking lanes just to get 1 stall closer to the door. And they get angry if you take too much time loading, or take the time to park your cart. When these people are waiting for me to leave I like to "forget" something and return to the store for more shopping....after I load everything in my car, get a drink, check my bags of supplies.

And another thing that get my dander up are these same a##s that park in the no parking pick-up lane , open their trunk/hatchback and put on their 4 way flashers ( which for some reason they think it makes it ok because they have them on) and sit there for a half hr. or so waitng for their better halfs to come out., and there are parking spots near by that they can see the exit doors from ! [ Sorry didn't mean to highjack this thread ]Gonefishie! I'll go and shutup now.

If I am cose to the Corral I usually try and grab a second cart too, if I am not, I put at least one wheel in a planter like LD describes. My favorite parking spots are adjacent to those same planter curb thingees with another car on the other side. I get close enough to the curb to avoid door dings and the other car protects me from carts. My system anyway . . .

I also love the jerks who park in two spaces cuz their new vehicle is so precious they can't take the time to park it in the back of the lot where there is lots of room. The arrogance is unbelievable.

I never take my Jag on any shopping run, if you don't want it dented don't park it. I have a real dog of a Ford P100 pickup truck, more dents and rust than you can shake a stick at, it's perfect for car parks. As for the car parked in 2 spaces I like to prove that you can get 1.5 cars in a space, it usually means about 1" gap between cars but it can be done, then find a good place to watch as the owner has to clamber across the seats to get behind the wheel.

:D :D :D

Haut if Seattle keeps them out they will be better off. WM is the worst enemy of Mom and Pop operations of any kind. They low ball them out of business then jack the prices up to where ever they want.

They tried to build one, but we don't really need one....
There was quite a bit of resistance locally...
That is one of the things I like about Seatttle .....
There are alot of unique stores....
You can get anything you want/need here....
The closest one that I can think of is 15-20 miles away....
I can understand their appeal if you live out in the stix, though.....JK
