Re: New Starcraft

CheapboatKev unloads his mossberg M500...cha-clack...round after round till the extended tube is empty...
With the bright yellow 00 buck shells stashed away in his vest, he sits on the stump, the Mossberg laid lovingly across his lap as if it was his old lab DUKE from his childhood...CBK pets DUKE's barrel lovingly for a moment...
Looks ProMach in the eye and barely whispers "Ya done good Kid" as a Marlboro Red magically appears between his cracked, sun beaten lips..

YOU ARE IN!
Love the rig!

Promach slowly disengages the hammer on his 40cal Sig, and snaps the strap down on his concealed auto while giving a slow hand signal for his Rotty Magnum to back off. With one step backwards, and a wipe of the forhead, ProMach strikes a match and offers it to CBK. "thank you.... sir" is given in a relieved tone................

thank you sir, good to be here

that first pic made me want to be on a lake somewhere. nice boat, love that blue color.

Thanks Barato. I'm not sure if its original or not. Its different, and the photo is acurrate on hue. I love it, the int. paint is light blue with black "speckle". Seems pretty piable as well. took the fuel cell "bench" off the other day, was rotten accept the paint.

I may have misspoken. I bought it near my lakehouse in Frostproof. The PO got it from his uncle in Marco. Paid $900 for her. I was actually looking for a car hauler for my mud truck when it popped up on my phone(notification). I live in Ft Laud. area. Would love to host you and yours for a day on a gator free lake. Maybe we can race for pinks- lol. And I'll leave Magnum at home. lol

Re: New Starcraft

Hey all, I've been busy modifying my boat. I will post pics later. But for now, I have an issue with her. I just found a crack(like a spur) right next to a rivet with is own crack. It's in the bow right under the front seat. Any advice on repair? I just put about $1500 into electronics and engine work. I'd hate to scrap the hull, but I don't want an ugly patch either. :(

Re: New Starcraft

Hey, good to see you guys still here. I'll post pics after work. Won't work on my cell. Yeah, it's been awhile, I'm sorry for that. My kids and myself have had a tough year with health issues. But doing better. I've been working on this boat almost everyday for a month now. I was giving her a final wash and clean up before i install the floor when I found the leak.
I'm crushed at this point. I was hoping to launch her this week.

Re: New Starcraft

worst case scenario, you can prolly have it TIG welded and still be on the water this weekend. but there are cheaper and possibly better ways to fix that. post pix.

Re: New Starcraft

notice the crack across the rivet as well.

this is the area where the crack is. The bow seat bracket, closest to you, under the rivet and including the rivet( again- closest to you). I see no damage here, but I'm thinking maybe the rivet had caught something. but i cant imagine what.

Re: New Starcraft

I'd patch it. Drill out the ends of each crack, grab a thin piece of alum, notch trowel on 5200, rivets, clean up, go boating!:thumb:

There is a fella over on the Resto forum who made a whole bunch of patches for his alum boat, wish I could find it quick. He did a great job, I'll go look some more...
