Can someone tell me what this is?

They are just showing up small. The Top picture is a exhaust couple or flange. Yes it needs to be replaced. The middle picture is your trim pump, and the last picture (although very small) looks to be your bilge pump.

Here's the transom. Not as bad as I thought but take a look at the plug area. See all the discoloration along the bottom of the transom,It's rot.

Frisco, could this be an old pump because there is another pump I pulled out with a hose attached to it that runs out the side of the boat. Strange.

This boat is nasty.
I think my next step will be to order all the new parts I need and then start on grinding the old glass on the deck and get that area preped and ready to go.Then I will start on cutting out the transom.

Didn't get a chance to work on the boat today but hopefully the next couple of days I can get a little done.
I was thinking about just cutting out the rot and fixing the transom that way but I want the piece of mind knowing that its solid for sure. With that said I have another qustion.
On the transom thier is a section that is 2 inches thick in the center were the gimbal bracket was attached. Can I just cut out this section or should the entire transom come out?

Just from looking you have a 3 piece transom. My Bayliner did also. only the center of mine showed rot so that was all I replaced. If your sides do not indicate rot is present dont mess with them and seal the bolts or screws that go through them.

Here is mine that is all she got. Been two years now and not a problem one.

Thanks proshadetree.
How did you seal the new transom to the old wood?
Could I use that pl and then glass over it?

Here's the transom. I didn't know what to cut it out with. I tryed to find a wood cutting blade for my grinder but couldn't find one so I broke the end off of a jig saw blade and went to work.

Need to take the wood all the way out to the old glass. Clean the old surface and clamp new one in place. From the pics you need to keep removing old wood. Measure thickness first, you need to be close to that figure when done with rehab.

I have a long way to go before I get all the wood out. Just being very carefull not to cut the outerskin. How thick is the outer skin or how thick was yours?
I'm kinda of scared i'm going to cut through it.
Are my pics small?
At least I feel good knowing someone is looking at this. Thanks :)

This is how thick the outskin is on my transom. I am glad I took it easy because I didn't expect it to be that thick.

Was able to remove about 95% of the old wood today. Still have one corner to chisel away and I found that a metal paint scraper works great to remove that left over wood and glue on the innerskin.

Thanks for your help. I'm sure I'll need more advice on the install of the new transom and deck.

Some manufactuers used an invervse jig to make the sub floor and stringers,. They used spray in chopp, and plywood for stringers, once set it would be placed in the hull and bonded in place.
I added the oldest pic I had to show example but it is from the build-up not the tear down.

Ayuh,... Donnos they got a proper name, but they Are different than the rest of 'em....
They're made of aluminum, 'n the acorn anodes mount to the outside....
They should be obvious in a Merc. parts look-up...
Doug Russel, or whomever you choose....

Btw,....That black motors lookin' pretty Mundane,...

No Lime Green, eh,..?? :D
